Are they a beta tester or a normal person that preordered?

I have it in northwest Alabama. It shipped sooner than I thought it would. It is up at a house I am remodeling. Right now it is just being used to run my security cameras and for light use while I am at the house working. No issues as of yet.

Edit: I was a pre-order that recieved it in the middle of May.

Wtf. Wonder why you have it in Bama before I have it in Oklahoma? I preordered a long time ago too.

So we know that service is better further north, but we also know that latitude isn't the only factor in how soon users get service.

I have no idea how they are choosing who to send to, but if I were doing it I would pretty closely match the density of users on the ground with the density of satellites overhead, and try to balance it with the number of orders in a region and the date they ordered. They're not going to fill straight north to south. Some users will get it while others north of them won't.

Has anyone else in Louisiana put in their deposit and if so, have you received your email shipping notification?

Starlink is targeting coverage in your area in mid to late 2021.

Some links-

Starlink visualizer-

https://starlink.sx/

Actual beta locations-

https://www.reddit.com/r/Starlink/comments/ml2i9q/starlink_availability_current_and_new_beta_test/

Unfortunately the beta kept coming more and more South, and then just hard stopped at the 33 parallel a few months ago.

A nationwide rollout for satellite internet service Starlink begins later this month, according to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.

Musk made the statement after he previously mentioned that Starlink is set to exit its beta phase sometime in October.

On Thursday, a Twitter user (from Louisiana) asked what this might mean for U.S. consumers, particularly those based in the south. "Starlink beta is ending this month as stated, will we see more of the southern states (Louisiana, Texas, etc.) roll outs?” the user wrote.

In response, Musk tweeted: "Should be nationwide rollout by end of month. Note, still limited by peak number of users in same area. This will improve as more satellites are launched."

Starlink customers who paid the $99 deposit to hold their “spot” in line for equipment delivery noticed an update on their Starlink account page last week. Apparently it showed a satellite map of where the service location was for each customer. Some noticed it was “off a little” like at the end of their driveway and updated the GPS dot to their house. Once they clicked save, many noticed that their estimated delivery time went from mid to late 2021 to well into 2022 and even 2023.

I updated the dot slightly; still mid to late 2021. Florida panhandle.

I’m not touching my dot lol

Mine still says mid to late 2021. My neighbor, who did not pre-order, states early 2022 when he puts in his address.

I ordered on October 20th and it shows "mid to late 2021". When the new website popped up I did not touch the map, but I checked a neighbors address and it shows "2022". I am hoping, but I don't expect it this year.
