Fiber is better and always will be.

No data cap too.

Pon is still a shared Internet setup. Too many subscribers in an area overloads the system just like every other residential Internet system.

True. But Cox just introduced (April of '22) a 2Gig Pon. ATT is upgrading parts of their network to 25G Pon and currently run XG (10G). Cox is also not symmetrical, which you know, while ATT is.

You must work for Cox being that you are pointing out every flaw in ATT fiber even though its universally a better service.

No. I haven't even advocated cox in this thread. I'm just an at&t customer that can be objective about fiber not being the perfect solution, especially PON, and at&t's limitations with their gateways. So many lies and misinformation on what exactly PON is and how it works. It has the same limitations that every system has and is subject to poor design issues.

My at&t service has been pretty good for 8 years now but I would jump to a cable internet service in a heartbeat if it met my needs. at&t peering is bad in my area and congestion has caused my latencies to start creeping up over the last few months. Probably a matter of time before speeds start dropping too.
