Which iPad?

My 67 year old mother uses her iPad very frequently for social media, email, soilatire, facetiming grandkids, etc.
For whatever reason, my dad says needs a new one for Christmas and has asked me to grab him one. It's been a while since I bought one and there are a ton of options out there now, what is the best bang for buck for her use? She uses it almost exlusively instead of a PC, but the Pro is obviously overkill.

How is his/her eye sight?

Her eyesight is fine, just seems really expensive for her use?

Probably, but it's the only way to get the 12.9 inch screen. If she is good with 10.9 screen then just get the most recent Ipad Air.
If you are on a tighter budget, you can get the 3rd gen Ipad Air for like $300 or so, which is a 10.2 inch screen and plenty of power for her basic tablet needs. Definitely not as future proof as the 4th gen tho.

Air is the best bang for your buck and really nice.

I don't know what these things go for but seems like she uses it alot so maybe spring for the nice one.

Absolutely doesn’t need anything more than the latest, regular tier iPad for $299 or whatever it is now.
The pro is way overkill for something like that and double the price.

You absolutely don’t need to spend triple the money just for this

Unless money isn’t an object in the decision.

Well technically it's less than 2X the cost of the 4th gen Ipad Air ($599 to $1099) - but you also get a better chip and 120 HZ refresh rate on the screen.
For OP it's overkill sure, but who knows - people like what they like.

I recently replaced my four year old iPad with a Pro 11. I splurged. I didn’t need the pro, but I felt like blowing some money.
After a few weeks, I’ll never go back. It’s fantastic.

……for his grandma just getting on Facebook and emails, 329 is perfectly fine my man.
