I hate Graybar. Biggest bunch of idiots on the planet. The one in Ashburn, the freaking internet capitol of the world, has the worst stock of parts related to data centers you’ve ever seen.

Coputercablestore.com does a good job. I order a lot of stuff from them and their shipping prices are fair for expedited shipping. I also rely on some sources that consumers don’t have access to.

I'm an Anixter guy. I also hate Greybar. But there's a Greybar in Lake Charles so I recommended it to OP for a couple boxes of cable.

Just curious what are you using it for that you need 2k fee

I ran over 2 miles of cable myself when I built my house, with over 4000 feet of it Cat6.

It can be done

Graybar
The prices on their website for a spool of cable are high as giraffe pussy. They're like 10X too high. Maybe I'm seeing it wrong or maybe I don't know wtf I'm talking about.

Their bread and butter isn't some average Joe walking into buy 300 dollars worth of parts

They have accounts with all of the major industrial E/I companies and offer different pricing to them than the general public

That is the standard assumption, but some of the prices I saw were shocking. But I guess a lot of it is I don't know wtf I'm talking about. I had never checked pricing on premium cable before.

Yeah, they couldn't care less about selling cable a box\spool at a time. That goes for any of the suppliers

Look at CMR not CMP cable. The CMP jacket on the cable is much more expensive than CMR jackets. It all has to do with building code. In your house it doesn’t matter so much. Big price difference.

Yep. Plenum cable isn’t needed in houses.

I went to order 2k feet from monoprice today and they wanted $75 shipping!

Monoprice has recently (that I’ve noticed, anyway) launched a line called monoprice essentials that always ships free. It looks like it’s the exact same as their regular product but with a shipping cost built in. Here is a link to 1000 feet of Cat6 cable shipped for $105. It looks like it is only $15 more than the one that does not ship free.
