Where do you stand on net neutrality?

I admit I'm no expert, but from what I understand, I'm sort of in favor of dismantling it if it means less people get access and thus less crap and garbage gets released onto the net.

Internet provides are the worst of the worst. But we need to give them the keys to the kingdom. ...

Anyone who wants to overturn it is a commie.

It's hard for me to understand why anyone would be against net neutrality. Equal access for all users and companies. Not allowing large companies determine what is allowed on the internet is what made it the most useful tool on the planet.
The only argument is more government is bad, but in this case it makes sense. Internet access is valuable and almost a utility at this point. The landscape as has changed and the internet service providers have more interests then providing you internet access. I believe net neutrality keeps everyone honest.

Lean in favor.
On one hand, we did just fine without it before 2015.
On the other hand, I don't want local ISPs to be able to dictate what content I'm allowed to see. (And conservatives should be worried given the liberal bent of the tech industry - if companies start discriminating, you'll see them throttle Fox and Breitbart in order to silence dissent.)

My stance.....people are dumb.
We don't win with or without net neutrality. We are fighting the wrong battle.

Christ on a cracker. We should dismantle the 1st amendment if it means dumb people can't talk??

Internet providers are also content providers. The internet providers usually have monopolies or near monopolies on markets. The internet providers should not be allowed to use that to monopolize the content delivery side.
Net neutrality is needed now and becoming more necessary as more options come around on the content side which oppose the content provided by the internet providers.

We did mostly fine without net neutrality rules before then. For the most part, we have always enjoyed the principles of net neutrality. The reason we need rules is that more and more ISPs have shown their willingness to break the principles of net neutrality when it benefits them.
If anyone tells you we don't need rules now because we didn't need rules before, they should immediately be ignored.

Anyone that wants the government out of regulating private business is the communist?

Your grasp on NN is not accurate.

Exactly. The internet is a private commodity, not a public utility. Considering the vast majority of people need an ISP to get to it, it’s not a public utility. Government needs to stay out the internet

It walks and talks an awful lot like a utility. With all the infrastructure required, the ISP industry leads to natural monopolies (like most utilities do).
You can blame government involvement all you want, but the fact is monopolies will arise anywhere very large investment is required just to serve more customers. And where there are monopolies, companies will tend to abuse that position.
So, unless you can devise a way to force competition (without going full commie and seizing assets), regulation is required.
