Looking to get a couple outdoor cameras and maybe some sort of alarm but not looking to have service. Mainly for noise and cameras to watch online.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Cameras - Ebay link

These are what "name brand" cameras are using, essentially rebranding/repackaging them and up charging.

Use the best in class and FREE ispyconnect software, and you're golden.

I sleep with one eye open...... Seriously..... So you get the thief on film..... Then what? Waste of money IMO. My neighbor has one to catch dogs pooping in his yard.

I have 3. one indoor, one on the backyard and one on the side yard. I paid 150/each. I also pay 8 of so bucks a month per camera to get 10 days of video and customizable zone monitoring.

I have 6 TVI cameras on a DVR. Like Zappa said it's just to get the thug on film. Just one layer of security to work in conjunction with other devices.

Yeah, it's in conjunction with other things. How much would a 2-3 camera setup like yours cost? I definitely want to watch recorded footage up to a certain amount if days.

Thanks for the link, I'll check these more but it just looked like cameras so this software comes with them or you download it? This has DVR setup as well?

Just bought the laview 8 channel ip kit. Setting up is fairly simple, you do have to forward ports in your router for the app to work but the instructions walk you through it and make it fairly simple

4 Lorex cams with blue Iris on an older PC. Got the cameras for a good price from a fellow poster, got BI for $45, and the PC it runs on was $300 4-5 years ago.

Wasn't really ready to take the plunge but the cost was too good to pass up.

We mounted iPhoneX's at 8 different points around the exterior of our home and synced them online with 1 dozen iPads.

Tell me more. I’m very interested in a bargain setup because everything I’m seeing out there is $500+ for a couple cameras. Then they’re sneaking in a monthly cloud service to pay for as well. Yikes.

Ideally, I’d love to buy 3 or 4 serviceable cameras and sync them to my home pc or some kind of hub and check in on them from my phone. What’s the cheapest option here? I am a complete noob with this stuff. Just getting my feet wet.

I haven't had time to do a follow up on it yet, with working late so much recently, but this caught my eye.
