Does anyone live where this is being tested or tried it yet?

I know your going to say bad idea but it really could throw Amazon for a loop once it becomes wide spread! Unless Amazon has a rabbit in its hat.

LINK /

Can't wait.

The killer feature is free unlimited times, being able to return if need be other items even if you don't do a grocery delivery at the time, and being able to see the whole delivery even when not there.

I know what you are going to say too. Lazy.

This is a perfect service for when being like at a Airbnb or condo on vacation.

Amazon offers the same thing. They also offer services where they'll put grocers in your car trunk or garage using smart locks. LINK

The one advantage Walmart might have in this is using their own employees instead of a lot of the outsourcing Amazon does.

I tried Walmart+, which was supposed to include grocery delivery. I've tried to use it several times and have never been able to get an available delivery time. It's always booked solid, 7 days out.

Walmart is a joke. Every manager needs firing, and so do 99% of the employees. They are a disgrace.

Wont argue some of these points but those scanners where you scan your own groceries are awesome. No more angry cashiers to deal with

Did you try recently? I usually can get it delivered the next morning. Seems like during the pandemic it was a lot harder to get a time. Took me a couple days. But I also live in MS so that may be the issue.

It's probably been 4 or 5 months since the last time that I tried.

Fred Meyer through instacart seems to work pretty well, other than having to substitute so many items. Getting a delivery has never been a problem, though.

I think 99% is low, but I admit I haven't been in EVERY Walmart.

Yes

It's really not, you have to tip your doordash driver which adds up fast. They have 2 neighborhood markets running with walmart vans/drivers that don't require a tip. But i'm a few miles out of their delivery zone.

I knew grocery delivery existed, but this is wild to me. They can come inside and deliver on their own? Let us know if you try it.

rumination yep it is wild!

I would never use it though. Good news is they say you can still have at the door delivery by a Walmart employee!

Hopefully they bring better bags for the groceries.

Wait for it but guess what other feature is wild.

Free returns from your house by them picking it up!

They deliver to the wrong address constantly. It’s not hard to follow Waze around here but I hear complaints of them screwing it up constantly.

Walmart wanted to do this in the early 2000's... the plan floated was using employees on their way home from work to deliver groceries on their way home. They also wanted full buggy check out implemented by I THINK 2008. They had the technology just the tags were expensive and they had supplier push back.

I wouldn't have signed up and spent the money for the for the Walmart+ delivery service if I had known it uses tipped labor. But you aren't required to tip. Although it automatically fills in a $10 tip you can 0 it out. Their FAQ page says you don't have to tip, so

I have gotten deliveries from people just in their cars (I don't know if it's Doordash based) but I have also gotten deliveries from Walmart trucks themselves I think. They don't seem the brightest though, one guy took a picture of all of my groceries in the back of his trunk as proof of delivery.

Like mentioned above, they are really hit or miss on stock. I always expect at least a few items on my list to be out of stock. It sucks to wait 2 days to get something you need and then it's out of stock, and you have to get your lazy arse to the store anyway.

My son works for Walmart, we get Walmart plus free as a benefit. Even free it annoys me. At least i get the $.05 off gas.

They likely have it. Just still sitting on the pallet and not on the shelf.

Pulled some cans of green beans off a pallet last week and guy working there gives me a look. Gave one back translating do your fricking job.

So each Walmart is different in the delivery services they offer. They have their own version of door dash drivers that are independent just like a door dash driver. They use door dash and just about all the delivery services. The way they get your no tip order is to bundle it with someone who actually tipped to try to get it delivered without having to up the pay for the order. If they can't bundle it and screw a driver then they may add a couple bucks to the delivery. Door dash and Walmart don't pay nearly enough when you can just go grab passengers on Uber and lyft and make $30+ an hour no matter the day or time (well except Sundays). You can make $50+hr if you are willing to work Friday and Saturday nights. Doordash base pay is $2.50/delivery and they rely on tips. That is how you get idiots delivering your walmart order for no tip.

Hey man watch your mouth.

Needed a new tv recently and found a sale on a 50in 4k. Bought it and used curbside pickup.

Clueless employees gave me 2 of the same tvs. Personally, I think they should all receive raises for such an act of kindness.
