Update has messed up Android

I installed the latest update to my Galaxy 7 and now my phone is slow and unresponsive. Chrome is basically unusable and will grind the entire phone to a halt.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a fix?

Only thing I can recommend is to do a factory reset. Wipe Data and Cache from the recovery menu and hope for success. (You should back up everything first. All of your files and apps will be deleted).
If that doesn't work, call Samsung and hope for the best.

Same thing happened to me. Back up everything and do a factory reset as said above. I did it, and mine has been like new.

Almost every person who has ever owned a Samsung phone.

Get a phone not made by Samsung.

thats a bit harsh. if i had a samsung i'd unlock and root that fricker right away and install a clean vanilla android ROM first thing.

LG finally acknowledged it to be a hardware issue. Just had to send my wife's 5x to them for replacement or refund.

Even after the 1.5 year warranty?

Hmm I don't know, because her's is still under warranty. I've read a couple of threads about them giving refunds for out of warranty 5x's, but that was back in November when LG finally fessed to the problem. All the reddit threads make me skeptical, because everyone has been saying how shitty LG has been with customer service. Some people are not getting anything (not even their broken phones) back, and LG basically telling them to get fricked.
If they send a replacement, it's the LG G5.

Good to know.
LG G5 isn't a universal phone, so I wouldn't be able to swap a T-Mobile sim for a Verizon one. Bummer.

my s7 edge was trash prior to the update. now it runs flawlessly, its smoother, battery is better, and i absolutely love the layout

My recent Samsung's had locked bootloaders. That's why I gave up on my note 4.

Yep. I'm in the middle of this right now. I have a 7 edge. Great phone before the update. Chrome is jacked up, the time zone keeps randomly resetting to mountain time, I have an odd weather notification that keeps popping up and when you touch it, it takes you to the Samsung stock text message app asking me to set it as default....Plus my non Samsung chargers won't work like they did before. Freaking nightmare.
Samsung had me take it in to get re-flashed which did nothing. Now they want me to mail it in for them to work on and said it would take about a week. Who fricking knows....
I'm still under warranty,... But what a joke. I should have bought the pixel.
