So I tried the beta for the past week. Really like the new launcher, and the notifications look great. The volume control is ok, but I prefer Oreos volume slider to the vertical one. Also, there aren't drop down tabs for Bluetooth, wifi, etc in the top bar like there are on Oreo.

The adaptive battery is awesome. Definitely saw a significant increase in battery life. Also, the adaptive brightness works better in P.

P seemed pretty stable, I only had with apps that seemed to have trouble working. I switched back to Oreo today because I use total wireless (I know I'm cheap) and my APN settings have always been messed up, but I finally had them correct in O and they got really messed up in P.

I might be switching to TMobile military plan, and if so I. May go back to P. Still can't decide if TMobile coverage will be as good as what I'm getting with Verizon towers now

Yeah I have been using it on my Pixel 1 and I like it a lot. It does look nicer but I hope they continue to improve the gesture navigation. I know it is only a developer preview but I don't see a need to have the Nav Bar still on the screen like the iPhone X. Only app I have had trouble with is Snapchat.

I almost tried it on mine yesterday, but I chickened out.

How much of a pain is it to switch back to Oreo?

I'm a fan of pretty much all of the changes.

It's pretty easy as long as you have Google backing everything up. Google definitely has the whole cloud backup miles ahead of iOS. I can grab a brand new phone, sign in with my gmail and have everything there within 10 minutes

Yeah it's run fine on mine. I mean you can tell it's a beta but it's definitely usable.

The thing I like most about this update is that my phone (Pixel XL) actually rings again, all the time now. Before, that wasn't the case - it was a known issue with Bluetooth on Oreo.

yea. the only thing i have notices is my phone has lagged once. when i was switching between like 4 apps very quickly. i have tried to recreate it but i cant.

Battery life is significantly better.

And learn to use the new pill button. Once you figure it out is is GREAT! full swipe up brings up app tray, halfswipe up brings recent apps and your most used app shortcuts. and then you swipe the pill to the right when in an app and it goes to the previous app. You can hold it when you swipe right and scroll through previously used apps.

Once you learn to use it is is way faster than the previous app button.

Yes even texts, make sure you have sms backup enabled in your settings. Texts, call logs, settings, pics, music, really everything should be backed up. It took me about 10 minutes to erase my phone, reinstall Oreo, and have everything back up and running

Google cloud is why I stick with Android now... It's just phenomenal
