It generally depends on where you are. I had Uverse when I was renting a house by LSU, had problems with latency quite often and they never could figure out the issue. I swapped to Cox and had no problems.

The wife and I bought a house on the other side of town and just stayed with Cox (besides, ATT's offerings at this location were shite).

Thus far though I think the complaints about ATT's fiber service has been less than their other internet packages.

What do you do in between when you cancel and then sign back up

Typically I'll sign up for charter/spectrum that has no contracts and an introduction price of 44.99 for 400 mpbs.

Obviously having a no contract provider in the area is required for this.

I have ATT and don't have any issues. I have 60 a month for 30 GB..I am always calling to see about getting it cheaper..I was told when fiber gets in my area that I would be able to get fiber for 60 a month..I would assume they are talking 1GB...

Yeah I get 850-950 on hardwired devices but usually no more than 500 on WiFi, and that's rare

It really doesn't matter unless you are torrenting all the time over wifi.

I get about 850 consistently on my wifi at home. I am using Ubiquiti AP Pros.

Fiber trumps cable. We have only had 3 outages in 2.5 years. One was a plane crash about a mile down the road. Another was a gateway that crapped out. The last one was a dog up and chewed the fiber drop.

That’s rock solid! I can’t say the same for Comcast.

cox told me today that fiber is much easier maintenance and less likely to have issues.

if you can get true fiber, go for it. i just got LUS recently and love it.

I don’t know about you but I did not get close to utilizing that bandwidth when I had 1gb fiber.

No contact other than AT&T 1 gig fiber. Actually my contract expired a 1 year ago with them so i guess maybe that was the reason i got the great deal for a year. I just hoping 5g is in the area in a year than maybe able to get this extended for longer

It's a 1 yr promo and 100/mo afterwards. I have the same offer right now. I do have cell service with them.

Let me let you in on a little secret. Bundle it with a tablet plan for an additional 11 dollars. By bundling, you get a 10 dollar discount, making your plan total 71 dollars. Bundling locks in the 1GB fiber and tablet at 71 dollars for 83.5yrs, seriously. Activate tablet plan and toss SIM card in the trash.

ATT is offering the fiber gig package 1000MB (not sure upload speed for $60.

Upload is symmetrical. 1000 up x 1000 down. I install it for a living. It's pretty awesome shite. I had an old-school phone guy training with me a few weeks ago, and he about lost his shite when I ran a speedtest on a residential customer's new 300x300 hsia (which actually ran 376mbps/388mbps with a 4ms ping time). The gigabit speed is really overkill, since there aren't many devices out there which can fully use up all of that bandwidth. But, for $60/month, I'd lock the shite out of that.

They offered me @ $80/month and this is tied to my mobile service.

They told me they had no offerings at 60 or 70 $
