Streaming with no internet..

We canceled cable and internet because the cost was $235 for 1 tv. We will be getting internet back at some point to stream..until then..
I connected an hdmi from my tv to my laptop and have been using my Hotspot from my unlimited data phone to give us internet access. Whatever is on the laptop now is on the tv..
But..We are burning up data on the phone plan and got an email saying they were gonna cut my speed...
Is there another way to stream without using data?
Maybe a cord that goes directly from the phone to hdmi in tv?

Streaming requires the internet. Hotspoting your phone's wifi or connecting the phone directly to the TV uses the same data.
Is your cell company saying you are approaching your hotspot limit or data limit? These are 2 different things.
If you are approaching your hotspot limit then connect your phone to your tv via usb-c to HDMI. If you are approaching your data limit you are SOL.

We have unlimited data..the message said they would slow our speed if we used a certain amount..so that makes no sense..

Unlimited data does not mean unlimited bandwidth. Most ISPs work this way unfortunately. They'll give you all the data you can consume at reduced bandwidth.

These exist. But if the videos are on the internet, you aren’t addressing the problem.
You can buy downloaded copies. They’re usually going to be copy-protected and not let you stream it over your local network, and you’ll have to download it (so you’ll burn up data just the same)
You can buy physical media (dvd, blu ray) and rip copies. There are a few threads here explaining the process. You can set up a little program to send them from a central place in the house to TVs, phones, etc
There are some other discussions floating around here and other parts of the internet about just downloading the videos from less-than-entirely-legal venues. But this still is going to cause you to download a bunch of stuff to get what you want to watch locally.
So, unless you’re watching local forms of media, you’re going to use a bunch of data.
ETA- I would suggest an antenna in the meantime. Or using a service like Netflix that allows downloads and downloading a season/series/handful of movies on a public network like your local library probably has.

If thats the case and you don't want to burn data, pick up a book or go to starbucks and watch your laptop there.

Download capacity is NOT the same as hotspot capacity.
Depending on your cell provider, there is probably a way to buy some sort of Hotspot pass, or upgrade your plan for a month for extra hotspot data. T-Mobile Magenta Max (which increases hotspot data) only gives you 40GB from a Magenta max of 5GB. I feel strongly you will burn through the 40GB limit anyway based on the clues I'm picking up.
Not sure where you live in the Carolinas and I suspect you're probably not in an area that gets 5G, but I would get a wireless Internet plan (like from T-Mobile) immediately. Get a cable modem from Comcast tomorrow, and bring it back in three weeks when you solve your broader problem and say you weren't happy with the service.
You're doing stuff that I don't recommend at deer camps.

Since you are just looking for a temp fix, you might be best off going to work, a friend's house, or a public wifi area and just downloading somethings to watch onto your laptop. If you're using Netflix that would be really easy.

Go to Starbucks or somewhere with free internet - log in to Netflix or whatever service you use. Download the content for offline viewing.

Link? I looked into getting a Verizon hotspot and it was $90 month for non-current Verizon customers with a contract
Put in my address on both Tmobile and Verizon and both said home internet was not yet available in my area
