Sony TV questions

So I am looking at diving into the 4k realm with a new TV.
I am able to get any sony TV at dealer cost.
Currently I am looking at the 930E for $1600. They are going to be discontinued this year so its more of a deal than normal. I could go for OLED but that runs $3000. I was in Best Buy yesterday and both looking amazing.
My current TV is a plasma that I have had for over 10 years and am hoping to get similar time out of this new purchase.
Which way should i go?

A1E
Go for the oled you won't be disappointed.

The Z is about 2600 right now. I guess I am trying to figure out if that or oled are worth the 1000 bucks+ more.

Not really, I'd go for the great deal on the 930 and maybe look to go OLED when it matures more and the price comes down in the future.
OLED is great, but I wouldn't spend a grand extra, they aren't that much better IMO. I think the most I'd spend for same size same brand just for OLED would be about $400-500, I think that's about the proper value for what you get over the other.

I’ll say the oled I now have has made wish I’d been purchasing plasmas all these previous years instead of lcd/leds

Do you want deeper blacks or peak brightness? Don't buy into the Dolby vision gimmick. You want brightness - 930e. You want deeper blacks - A1E.

Bought the 55 inch 900E during black friday sales and love it. I don't have a bright room, so the 930E wasn't really necessary.
The Android operating system can be clunky and awkward at times, but overall its a great TV for under $1k.
I was between the Sony and the LG OLED. I decided to use the money I saved for a decent soundbar. Very happy with the decision.

What kind of hook up do you have?

I would spring for the A1E.

If you want to spend the money get the Z it's got the best picture. When you side by side it with with the same HDR sauce with the OLED you can see how much more detail the Z shows. If you pause the video it obvious how much information is lost in the OLED darkness.
If you want bang for your buck get the 900, best deal in 2017 TVs.

Whatever you get, buy with a credit card that has the extended warranty feature (most do), save the sales receipt and credit card entry/bill, and maybe go ahead and register it with the CC company to make future claims easier.
I say this because I bought a Sony 4K that had the power chip crap out 3 times under warranty before I finally convinced them to replace the TV. At the end, I was about out of the original 1 year warranty and would have been hosed if they had not replaced and it broke again (unless I had that CC warranty).
