50” UHD

49” QLED

Is the extra $$$ to step up to the QLED / Q60 worth it?

I've been in the hunt lately. The Q70 outperformed the Q60 on rtings.com by enough for me to consider the few $$$ hundred. Still trying to not be cheap and pull the trigger. Costco has good deals right now.

Anything will be a huge improvement to my 12 year old 40” Sony Bravia LCD. Ha

It’s crazy, but I’m thinking of sticking with the cheaper UHD model for two reasons:

1. With current streaming options, is the extra $$ even worth it?

2. Don’t want to give up even 1 inch of screen size

Go to Costco and check them out in person.

Went to Best Buy and did. Impressive picture on both. Admittedly, the more expensive Q60 is a better picture. Of course that means more $$.

I’d buy the Q60

I have the 50" UHD 7 series in two of our bedrooms. It is an absolutely beautiful picture, and more than good enough at that size. I wouldn't worry about the Q60 at that size.

That being said, when I replace my 75" in the basement theater next year it will be with a Q series.

Disclaimer: I work for a Samsung subsidiary and get their products at extreme discount, so I'm obviously biased.

Just stopped by Best Buy again.

Definitely stepping up to the Q series. As well as a 55”.

Now seriously thinking about a Q70 55” or a Q60 55”.

Geez. It’s only money right?

Just spread that extra $300 for the Q70 out over the life of your current tv to help you justify it. Assuming the new one lasts as long as the older one...

Gonna go ahead and do that. I won’t be sorry I’m sure.

Just make sure you are comparing pictures from what you actually receive. Lots of places use 4K video with lots a colors to pop out at you to sell the high end sets..

LG OLED B9 is a great alternative if you don't view in a bright room and want an amazing picture.
