I didn't know about the microphone issue but i would consider lack of availability a "massive problem that plagues the pixel".

I've had the pixel for almost a year. Battery doesn't last like advertised. This pissed me off when I got it. I have heard the battery is better on the XL, but I don't carry phones that big.
My issue as of late is my pixel getting really hot when using it. I send a few txt, put back in my pocket and my thigh feels like it's on fire. Hopefully nothing happens.
I will say I didn't want to leave IOS, but very glad I went with the pixel back to Android. However, I will be going back to IOS when the new iPhone comes out.

the 6P debacle of recent months is troubling.
The biggest thing with the 6P's are them running hot and the battery life falling off a cliff. Normally changing a battery is very easy, but the unibody design of the 6P is a challenge to take apart. I actually fricked up my amoled screen trying to take mine apart (and I've taken plenty of phones apart in the past)
After contacting Google about my issues, they offered to send a refurb. While waiting they ran out and offered a full refund which I debated but eventually took (loved the 6P).
Evidently there is a class action lawsuit regarding the 6P's and google is quick to offer refunds.

I love my 6P, but the 7.0 update really fricked it's battery. It'll suddenly die out of nowhere when it's under 50%, which is supposedly some problem in the Nougat update that they're "trying" to fix.

was there any substance to this no headphone jack rumor? gonna have to upgrade phones fairly soon.

Nobody knows yet. Just rumors.

Most of the accurate "leakers" let this out a while back.
They are rarely wrong

There are also cases already on Amazon with holes for headphone jacks.

Deal breaker? Lol. I hate to break it to you, but 3.5mm audio jacks are being phased out of top flagship devices. In order to be on the bleeding edge of technology and have 2:1 screen ratios, slim bezels, stereo sound, waterproofing, large batteries, etc., You cannot take up valuable real estate with:
SD card slots
Wireless charging coils
Headphone jacks
LARGE PHYSICAL HOME BUTTONS (apple)
(Or any other space hogging gimmicky hardware)
The 2nd iteration of the Pixel will be the best phone of this year especially with that abortion of a design for the iPhone 8. My current Pixel XL is the best phone I have ever owned. It is fast, pure Android, good battery, and has been just a great overall device. I have owned every iPhone up to the 5s, and have had Android phones by HTC, LG, Motorola, Huawei, etc (most of those were Nexus devices). Nexus was a solid brand that offered everything Android in it's purest form. The Pixel is following that footprint but with the best of the best hardware you would expect in a flagship device. They were rushed on the first one, and it was still the best Android flagship last year. I can't wait for October.

Agree. Great performance and battery life. Speaker leaves a lot to be desired, but it doesn't get a ton of use.

Speaker isn't the best. No waterproofing either. But, like I said, for the time frame they had to start from scratch after Huawei backed out, not a bad first run.

I love some Google and Android, but that's really embarrassing if they actually kill it now.

I currently have the Pixel XL and see no reason to change from it.
It has been a very solid phone, updates are timely and no issues with responsiveness. And the camera is solid.

I'll happily give up my headphone jack if they'll include an SD card slot.
