Anyone know of a place that is actually honoring wait list and selling for retail ?
Everything on line is resellers jacking up the price to 3x.
I've been on some waiting list but nothing so far.
Thanks

Follow a drop-bot on Twitter or Twitch like you were trying to buy a PS5/Xbox.

I'm just living within my means and doing more with less with my old 1070 card.
One option is to buy a system that includes the RTX 3080.
But at some point there won't be enough buyers willing to pay highly inflated prices and supply will exceed demand.
Good luck.

Some point meaning 2022 or later? Unfortunately this chip and semiconductor shortage isn't going away anytime soon.

Seriously, follow a twitch stream like this

Twitch LINK

And let it run in the background. They run bots which continually check stock, and have an audio alarm go off when it finds something in stock.

It's literally the easiest way to find one, short of just lucking your way into one. I've been able to buy a few for friends and it usually only takes a few days to a week to actually buy one.

why do y'all ask gaming questions on the tech board?

While it's true that EVGA has a list it is also true that I received an email from them today that the GPU I put in queue for on January 27th is still in queue and they have no idea on a date that it will become available.

To be fair GPUs are nowhere near exclusive to gaming so I can see why someone would ask here.

ETA: Equally valid question, why are you posting about GPUs on the gaming board?

Because they are primarily used for gaming? There are obviously other uses, but you'd be very ignorant to say that their primary use isn't for gaming

I use my TV to watch sports, but I wouldn't post looking for TV recs, sales, etc. on any of the sports boards here. If we are being anal about where shite is posted, which the dude mocking the OP clearly wants to do, then computer hardware belongs on the tech board, and talking about playing video games belongs on the gaming board.

I don't know the answer but with the state of GPU mining and the numerous amount of professions and hobbies that require a computer with GPU I would again say GPUs are far from exclusive to gaming. I would even go as far as to speculate there are more GPUs not used for gaming than for.

Sure, because there are millions of Quadro cards out there that come standard in most workstation machines.

But specifically for RTX/RX cards, they are targeted towards gaming for a reason (obviously miners keep swooping all the stock up though )

I've been looking for almost a month for one of these. Have signed up for alert bots, twitter notifications, and text notifications. No luck yet finding one under $1,000 (MSRP is $700). I don't think you will find one for $700 for many many months

Wow mind blown, this is way better than the twitter accounts that alert you of drops. Any others besides Falcodrin?

they're not exactly "better". the thread i created has a youtube live stream of drops. if you don't have a bot, you're not getting anything from amazon or newegg. best buy is getting harder because people have created bots to bypass the "Please Wait" queue.

I got really lucky. I somehow was on EVGAs website moments after they listed the 3080 and I immediately just hit notify me when in stock. So when they went to the que system I was already in. Got the email for a purchase window the first day they launched it.

Was difficult withholding from putting it up for bid on Ebay.

Kind of sucks there's a 3080 Ti now.

The 3080ti is a pretty pointless piece of hardware. The only reason it’s not an absurd laughing stock is because stock of everything is so limited.

12gb kind of what draws me to it even though that's how the 3080 should have came. I fricking hate Nvidia with a passion.

Anybody want to buy a 2080 super? I'll give ya a terrible deal.

Are there any games right now that are actually pushing the 10gb? Hell, I can count on one hand the games the flirt with a hiccup caused by the 8gb on my 3070 (hypothetically; I don’t actually game at 4k).
