Looking for one to use around house both indoors and outside in yard.
Would like it to be linkable with another one if possible but not a must have.
I do not care about Alexa, Siri etc...

Thanks

Moth speakers recommended here are really too small. Look at Nyne products. Sam's often has a model or two. Fantastic.

Just got in a UE Wonderboom 2 yesterday and sounds big and clear for such a small speaker. Paid about $75 on Amazon.

I also have its biggest brother in a Megablast 2 by UE and it too is a top performer.

I've had this sucker for at least 8 years and I still have not had a time where I completely drained the battery. If you're looking in the low/mid budget range, this is the one to get. They also have one that's 10 bucks more and has bigger speakers and (only) a 20 hour battery life. Waterproof too. Great bass for the size and the sound is nice and full, not tinny.

Over the years we have slowly gotten less and less demanding of the fidelity of our listening pleasure. For the masses anyway, there are still some audiophiles out there that demand more. Even at 256k bitrate, mp3 kind of sucks.
FLAC is better, but then you send it to a bluetooth speaker.
I have yet to hear a bluetooth speaker that I am pleased with, but I guess it's just the price you pay for convenience and portability.
That said, my girlfriend has a Flip 5 as well, and it's tolerable for its purpose.

Check out the Explorer Outback. I bought one from Sam's a few years ago (not sure if they carry them anymore), and I love it.

I use it inside and outside. I left it out in the rain once and it didn't do anything to it.

I bought an Oontz Angle 4 years ago that is still working great. Splash proof so you can take it outside with no worries. It has two small speakers in it. They’re pretty cheap and sound decent enough just to have some music going outside. I use it at my desk a good bit for podcasts too when I don’t want to use headphones.

I have a JBL Flip 4 that I bought a year or so ago and it is by far the best thing I’ve ever heard.

A buddy has a Harman Kardon Onyx speaker that he swears is the best and I think it’s excellent too
