Recommend new phone please

I'm sure this topic comes up all of the time here. Sorry if this thread pisses you off.
I'm upgrading from an S6 on ATT and trying to decide the best phone out there (or soon to be).
I mainly use the phone for web surfing, social media, emails and calls. Occasionally I'll take pics and videos of the kids.
What would you recommend and why?

Do you want to stick with Android? I have an iPhone 8 Plus, but I hear good things about the Galaxy S8, 8+, and the Note 8.

Had an s8+ got my v30 today. Get the v30 trust me. At least go handle one at the store. Phone of the year.

Been thinking about trying an iphone for the first time. Would the new iphone be worth trying out over the pixel 2 or V30?

I change phones like socks. And my S8+ lagged a bit much. I've got a Pixel 2 xl ordered too but I'll probably return it.

S8+ is a pos. Andoid is terrible anyway but this stupid curved screen sucks. Also the battery isn't as good as my old iPhone 6+

Do you have any actual reason to change? Problems with group texting with iPhone users. Don’t like Android for some reason. Have other Apple products like a Mac or Apple TV? If not I’d say stick with Android. They both do the same thing but you already know Android.

Android up until Marshmallow was garbage. If you haven't tried Android since the iPhone 6 came out then you're talking out of your arse.
This is coming from someone who didn't try Android until late 2016, and I'll never switch back now.
