Agreed. The only reason I knew about it is from here and one of the IT guys at work.

Could be by design though. May be trying to roll it out slowly to work out bugs and gradually build capacity on the network.

We freak out when TD goes down, imagine if that happens during a major tv event with millions of customers watching.

Having a mass customer surge and a subsequent crash of sony's servers would be a major shite show, potentially driving people away.

Fire TV came in yesterday. Here's my initial review for those who care:

- Installing the vue app was a breeze. I didn't even search for it. I just used the voice control on the remote and said "Playstation Vue App". Came right up and downloaded and installed within 10 seconds.

- The layout - I'm so familiar with AppleTV now that it'll take getting used to. It seems busy initially, but I think when I'm more comfortable with it and able to customize it and add my shows and my channels it'll help.

- Performance - flawless. When I started a show I couldn't tell that I wasn't watching a Directv channel.

Summary - Directv will not be missed. For those on the edge, take the leap of faith. I can't believe I'm saving so much money and still have the quality of entertainment that I'm getting.

I'm pretty disappointed that there's not Roku app for Vue. The site says it works on Chromecast, but it also says "cast from your iPhone..." with no mention of Android. Does anybody know if you can use Vue with an Android phone and a Chromecast?

Well shite. I hope it comes to Roku as I really don't want to buy a Fire TV, and judging from EVERYONE's reviews Vue kicks the shite out of Sling.

I've read that the Roku might not be powerful enough to run Vue, but if Netflix can put a UI overlaid on top of video, why can't Vue?

I wouldn't wait IMO

Like you said, it probably won't work as well as the Fire tv anyway

Me too.
I'm more disappointed it's not available on Androidtv, which is available only on Sony tv's (and external boxes), who are the makers of Playstation, who created this service.
C'mon Sony!

I don't want to buy anything else. I just want to plug my ethernet into my tv and use it for everything. Problem is android tv doesn't have WatchESPN, or Vue, but it has everything else I need, even Kodi.

Ok, so I've had it with Cox and am now getting LUS fiber. Its a better internet service from what I've read and should be able to get Vue easily as I'm getting double the amount of Mbps for 10 dollars extra. Just wanted to ask with anyone who has PS Vue with LUS fiber before they install, any problems with it? And also, what router should I get? I know the nighthawk is all the rage right now but what router can get the job done (streaming to PS4, PS3, and an Amazon fire TV) for the price?

..I would be purchasing a Fire TV so I'll ask, how is your experience with the wifi? Any issues at all?

I have a fire tv, 2 firesticks in bedrooms and a PS4... the experience on all of them has been great. the firestick is a little less responsive but still works just fine.

vue is what made me cancel dish network

Some questions.

This 28 day max on recorded items...is there a way to bypass this? We record a few shows off different networks...Vikings Black sails blue bloods Empire things of that nature. We dont always watch them quickly and might go past 28days. I am wondering tho is that really a issue...is there a on demand streaming wrapped up into VUE that has those shows anyway?

How do yall handle HBO...if you have no cable provider to use HBOGO do you just use someone else info? I know thats possible but is there a way of not doing that.

Thanks

I think you can buy hbo as a stand alone these days without any cable provider.

Yes past 28 days you can elect on demand but can't fast forward through commercials. Also not all shows are available on demand. Most major shows seem to be available.

HBO now is available for 15 bucks a month as a standalone product

the ONLY downside to vue so far is not being able to watch it on your phone through a different wifi somewhere other than your home IP.

that's it. that's the only con.

A slight work around to that is you can log into some stand-alone apps using your Vue credentials. I tried it with Watch ESPN and disney jr.- worked like a champ.

Having full access would be awesome, but I supposed it's the only way they can combat password sharing.

I read this but what do you select as your provider? I don't think vue shows up does it?

Well damn. I swear when I looked yesterday I didn't see that. And I hadn't even been drinking. Looks like it worked . Wonder which other apps it'll work for.
