Deals to be had on closeout models. Should l be worried about shipping of a 65" OLED?

I have never had any issues in my experience

This is typically something you have to sign for after inspecting to make sure it is not damaged

Worried about what? Generally speaking, large TVs are primarily delivered these days (not a ton of people can fit a 65" or larger TV still in the box in their car.)

Worried about Billy Ray and Leroy showing up in an old crawfish delivery truck.

I'd pull it out the box and power it up before signing for it.

I ship and I receive TVs daily

Can you share some websites you buy from?

I’m looking to purchase a couple TVs for my new house. I’d like to compare prices to BB. Thanks

Worried about what? If they break it, it's theirs. The worst part is taking delivery of it. You'll likely have to be there to sign for the delivery. On the other hand, FedEx just left a giant arse 65" TV on my front porch last year when I had one delivered, so maybe you won't.

Think ahead of how you will dispose of all the packaging and how you'll get into it. It'll likely come in the shipping materials it comes from the factory in, not just the brightly printed single box with the styrofoam around the TV that you get if you buy it at the store. Mine came with the store display box, a drab cardboard box around that, a bunch of giant bubble wrap around THAT and then a huge bulky outer shipping box around that. It was like the Russian nested dolls of packaging. I guess that's how the factory sends them out. It was a real pain in the arse to get the outer boxes off because it was so bulky to handle to slide them off. I ended up just ripping them apart because I didn't have enough hands or room to slide the large outer boxes off the inner boxes.

Also, you might want to make sure you've got a buddy if you're a smaller guy. When the TV comes like that, it's not real heavy, but it's a LOT of bulk to be moving around by yourself. There's a good chance the delivery guy won't enter your house or do anything to help you other than put it on your porch, so it might be up to you to manhandle that bulky thing into your house.

I've bought scads of televisions and monitors via the internet without any significant issues.

I did buy the big tv from Best Buy, but I was as concerned about getting it home as I would be for UPS to bring it.

Since it's a closeout, your return options might be more limited, but it's not like you have an alternative on the price, right?

I ordered 2 TVs to be delivered to my camp from Amazon. Somehow the order got split and one tv came FedEx and the other UPS. They also came a day earlier than expected. Somehow, neither required a signature. It was absolutely pouring when they were delivered. The UPS guy dragged the TV up the stairs, leaned it against my door and covered it in plastic. FedEx left the other one downstairs in the rain. ?? Luckily they double boxed it and the inner box was wrapped in plastic. Both TVs worked just fine.

I ordered a 55" Sony from Crutchfield a few years ago and it arrived without any issues.
