We are in the process of building out a new workspace housed within our garage / workshop, which is a "detached" structure approximately 30-40' from our back door. The office would towards the back of the workshop, so the space that will need internet coverage is approximately 60' from the back door of our house, and approximately 85' from our modem setup.

**I put quotes around detached because it is connected by a covered walkway.

Modem setup - we have Cox internet, and a Eero mesh wifi router system. Great coverage throughout the house.

I can think of two somewhat basic options to power the new office:
1. Run a cable directly from the modem, through the attic and walkway, and into the office (wired option)
2. Extend the Eero router "field" by adding a few more routers outside. (wireless option)

Is there another basic option that I'm missing?

I have a ubiquiti AP hardwired for my detached office in a similar setup. Not familiar with Eero, but do they have RJ45 ports? Should be able to run a cable from one to another if so.

I would do this. If possible run a cable and you can add another Eero in there as well for wireless coverage.

For that distance I'd go hardwired as well. Run it through PVC underground if need be.

Hell, can even put a switch at the other end to connect more devices too

Hardwired is the way to go and it's super easy

You can get direct burial cable as well, but conduit and pull strings is probably best

Thanks all - I'll work on a way to run a cable out there. There's too much concrete to bore it myself so I'll have to get someone to do it or I need to run it through the covered walkway.

Run it through the attic yourself

This is the route I would go. I would still protect it with a small pvc and just mount the pvc to the covering in the walkway (I don't trust squirrels, ).

Yeah, I was thinking of running it through some conduit under the walkway instead of trying to thread it through (it's a very small gable) and then painting it the same color as everything so it doesn't stand out.

I have 3 of the Linksys Velop mesh routers that wireless connect and cover my whole house and shop. Mine probably goes 100+ feet and I had to position 2 of them in windows of the house and exterior office but it works perfect.

Run a wire (2 actually) to shop as discussed in here already. Or install wireless bridge on house (wired connection required) and shoot it to receiver in shop. I have direct burial cable but still opted to use wireless bridge cause that was easier than trenching and avoiding pool/sprinkler lines to get wired connectivity to my shed.

I think a lot of folks are overlooking that there's a covered walkway connecting the structures. OP, I would definitely utilize that structure and hide cables running through it assuming there's easy access to both ends via the attic spaces.
