Some people have mentioned Hulu. I’ve never seen Hulu live TV, but during LSU game threads, it always seems like someone with Hulu is having issues.
Also to add onto the no channel numbers thing, the app learns your watching habits and will recommend shows that are on you usually watch.

If you're a little tech savvy look into IPTV. I pay around $13 a month. Thousands of channels, Netflix, Hulu, Max, Paramount etc is all included.

The only reason I still keep my Direct TV is for hurricane season. I pay $70/mo, which is the same as Youtube, and if my internet goes down, I still have satellite.

Is that $160 just for the TV service or does that include internet? If it's just for TV, cancel asap, and don't look back.
YouTube TV is the cleanest, and best user interface. $73/month
If you're already paying for Hulu/Disney/ESPN+ then the Hulu Live option is good because you can get it all in one package for $77/month
Sling works but you'll probably need both "Orange", "Blue", and the Sports addon packages which will cost around $65-70/month and doesn't stream local channels.

Just make sure you have a decent internet package.
You must have this with any streaming service. I like Fubo. It's more expensive than YouTube TV but easier to navigate. Plenty of channels and has a add on fee for expanded sports package, it's worth it.

That is a nice feature and makes things easier. I still hate not being to flip/recall previous channel with one button. Then again, I'm old and not too savvy with all of this.

HuluTV with the live TV add on is pretty good too. I don't remember if it has a DVR like YTtv does.
It do.

Preparing to retire. Paying over $160 a month for direct. Looking at other options. Wife is interested in YouTube tv, as it has all of the channels she watches for half the price. Are those of you that have YouTube tv satisfied? Picture quality?
Other services you would recommend? TIA.
just dropped almost everything and went to YouTube TV. So far so good. We also have one that has ads for $6.95 a month but I do not know the name. It has most of the crap channels that YouTube does not...the channels my wife watches all of those chick flicks and married at first sight shows and my 84 year old dad watches old TV series and westerns on. We could probably get by without youtube TV altogether except for football season because I watch youtube videos mostly and everyone else in the house watches crap that the producers will almost pay you to watch....

Many like Hulu as well. I personally hate the Hulu interface and found the service a lot more "choppy" and than YouTubeTV
Somehow or the other we were paying $170 a month for HULU. Never realized it, checked banking records and had been doing it for a little over 2 years. We both thought it was about $60 a month LOL. It is pretty good but apparently after a trial period it went up a bunch...

youtubetv is awesome. i got tired of direct and paying over $200 even after being a customer for a decade and went to fiber internet, youtubetv, espn/disney/hulu bundle and netflix for less than i was paying just for Direct. way less.

My wife and dad watch UGA games in the living room and I usually watch on the back porch so I can smoke cigars (yes, I am whipped and I love it!). One or the other will be ahead in the game every game....the TVs are about 10 inches apart but the games will be as much as a minute apart. There is no rhyme or reason to it...we have tried syncing them up...no go. The radio broadcast is ahead of both of them....even when streaming it.

We have fiber internet to the house but they just installed fiber cable to the street. I think it is X Finity but I am not sure. I don't care if it is $300 a month when it is available we are buying it. Streaming is shite in all instances. We have been doing it for about 6 years and are so fed up with it that I will willingly put up with suck arse cable customer service to stop it.

This! Love Youtube TV, but when Xfinity is lagging, it's brutal. There are definitely days where I wish we just had hardwired cable, but it's always because of our internet.
