Preparing to retire. Paying over $160 a month for direct. Looking at other options. Wife is interested in YouTube tv, as it has all of the channels she watches for half the price. Are those of you that have YouTube tv satisfied? Picture quality?

Other services you would recommend? TIA.

Youtubetv is great. No issues. Just make sure you have a decent internet package.

For zero dollars I do a lot of streaming on the Roku channel. (You do need a Roku for this)

I have had it for 3 years and it’s awesome. You can find cheaper options but YTTV interface is the best I have seen. Also the ability to stream in multiple devices is second to none.

YouTubeTV has been great for me.

Many like Hulu as well. I personally hate the Hulu interface and found the service a lot more "choppy" and than YouTubeTV

Samsung TV's also have Free Samsung TV+.
Pluto TV is also pretty solid for absolutely free streaming(no signing up for shite).

As well as Tubi and FREEVEE

If you get an antenna and can get your local channels that way you could have news and entertainment 100% free.

The only thing you'd really lack is ESPN for sports.

It all adds back up eventually. They're still making money.

$80 for high speed internet
$10 for Netflix
$10 for Hulu
$10 for Peacock
$10 for Amazon Video

Add in the $10-20 per movie for "Still in theaters, watch it now"

I have YouTube TV. I went from Direct to YTTV as well. Extremely pleased with it.

Once I got over the fact I was supporting Google, I’ve grown to love it.

Only issue I had was not being able to “flip” the channels. There are no channel numbers. But you can set the guide up however you like.

We pay for Hulu and Amazon but we share these accounts with people who , in turn, share with us Paramount +, Peacock, Disney/Espn +

Until they crack down on sharing like Netflix did, it's not too bad.

Also, Max(HBO) is free now with ATT phone service. That' really nice considering the arse-reaming ATT gives us for cell service.

I dropped DTV and the provider verification still works. Haven't missed any espn stuff. Not sure how long until DTV reconciles their subscription rolls.

Youtube TV is great. HuluTV with the live TV add on is pretty good too. I don't remember if it has a DVR like YTtv does.

Good to know. I have a wealthy friend who's dad's Cox account gives us ESPN/SECN even though he passed away 2 years ago. I think the estate is still paying that bill.
