i'm wondering if the cold killed the battery.

Very possible, they aren't fans of the temps we have been having lately.

Everything came back online today so I guess it was the cold? Interesting that the battery didn't actually die which is good

Is anyone using a separate router to control their home automation (Wink and related items)? If so, how difficult is this?

I'm not doing this, but I'd assume it would be as easy as setting up a second router with a different SSID and only putting your hub and wifi devices on that SSID.

I just got a winkhub2. Are there any alarm options that work with wink that also offer monitoring? Right now I use simply safe but I'd like to use something that integrates so my alarm turns on when I leave the house.

Only options I see for wink don't offer monitoring it's just an audible alarm. ADT anounced something back in January 2016 but I dont see the service In the wink app

Seems like it's just a service that runs on top of sensors you have connected. This would do the trick. Does anyone here use it?

My understanding is ADT monitors the senors and motion detectors you have in place on the wink hub. There's no way to actually have the hub control a stand alone keypad. I might be way off on that.

But that does make me curious because I've never seen a keypad that works so how do you arm/disarm?

There's not much info online about ADT/wink other than the original announcement. So I guess it's possible it never materialized.

well my control4 unit was hardwired to my alarm system and could arm/disarm my system. all it would take is a keypad that had a wifi antenna with some programing and you would be able to turn on and off the alram.

I thought cad had it set up that the alarm would turn off when the key code was pressed on his locks.

does that turn on/off your alarm, what alarm is it or is it just a generic zwave accessory? I dont have adt or any alarm service but i do have a wired alarm. i want the hub to be able to arm and disarm it.

What is the device that you input the user code on?

Can any colored smart bulbs be used with wink without a bridge? (I have a Wink Hub2).

loaded question.

sylvania osram lightify does color TEMP (warm to cool whites) without a second hub required

hue require their hub (both v1 or v2 work fine)

LIFX are wifi so i think they can be connected directly to wink hub but i haven't actually seen these in action so can't comment on how good they are.

eta

chinese 'color remote' bulbs don't connect to any hub and only work with their cheap little remote.

ge daylight/morning bulbs are sucky bluetooth bulbs that don't hook to anything and they took our money with false promises

Which bulbs are you using for your kitchen counter. Do you need a bridge for those?
