Hmmm u might be able to do that with an outlink smart outlet.

I'll try an experiment to see if flipping the breaker triggers an "off" event.

If that works I'll sell you one of my extra ones for dirt cheap.

I just lost complete control of the two normal C nights. I was able to reset the sleep lights. The others are a complete bust - they work but won't connect

This puts wink in an even stronger position as the only remaining user friendly HA hub.

Apple is busy being a typical snob by ignoring the number one inexpensive HA communication standard in lieu of boutique pricey techs.

And I have no idea what Google is doing since they bought nest and also released a hub without mainstream HA radios.

Lot of buzz that Samsung is going in a different direction on HA and closing out the st2 hubs.

based on the article i just read i wouldnt agree with this. If anything samsung is trying to get more involved, not giving up on home automation.

I was just speaking as to whether it made sense to invest in a smart things Hub right now because they're on sale when they may be on sale because they're going a different direction and it may become obsolete.

awesome if you could send me one of those outlets if your test works. My GFCI breaker tripped this weekend speaking of. My Ggrlfriend left a box fan out in the rain plugged into ont of the outside outlets.... Luck i was working out there that afternoon and noticed my TV wouldnt turn on outside. only lost power to the freezer for an hour.

Heck i might just put a whole through the wall and plug it into an outlet inside the house. I hate these GFCI outlets.

ETA: i got the update for the GE bulbs. no difference, Still can connect to them w/o powering my phone off and back on. Hurry up Wink and get control of these things.

if you leave the app running and come back to it a couple minutes later they seem to connect.

i'll try & do a test of the outlet today when i get home.

I don't think the outlet works like that. I see this question pop up all the time with no answer
