I was unable to record anything to the DVR yesterday on my Apple TV. I had to manually go in and do a voice search for "DirecTV Now" and then update. After that it let me login but the DVR was no bueno.

Mine is working as of this morning. At least it is on the iOS app and in Chrome on my laptop. I’ll have to test out the Apple TV when I get home.

Clear your cookies and cache. Worked for me


Not me, but, going to incognito worked. Must be one of my Chrome plugins causing an issue.

I went in the app store and found the app and since it was already installed it had the option to update. I may try deleting it and see if that changes it.

Anyone else having issues recording? Tried from the Apple TV 4 and trying from my iPhone 8plus and getting a message stating: "Looks like something went wrong. We couldn't record your content. Please try again." Then it just says "Recording feature is currently in BETA".

Is that just me?
ETA: I only have the 7 day trial. Maybe they won't give that to me to try? That's dumb though.

I doubt that's the problem. They rolled the DVR out too early, IMO. The Beta still had issues on a regular basis. But, customers were getting impatient with the lack of DVR service.

It gave me that message for one program I tried to record but on others it worked fine. It looks like it’s a case by case basis

I haven’t tried fooling with it again. Anyone have a number for direct tv now to call. I could only find a chat service. I plan to get deep into some barrel proof bourbon and get on there arse later if it’s still not working. I’m still waiting on the “call back” from last night.

Mine updated automatically on ATV4 and it is a much improved experience from what I have seen at least

Program descriptions were long overdue

Yep problem loading the guide, problem playing recordings, live tv buffering then going to a black screen. Plus there is no buffer to rewind or FF live tv? What kind of crap is that.

Yep my shite still isn’t working. Won’t let me log in. Chatted again and was assured it would work yesterday. Up to $70 in credits so far.

Yea it’s not too bad because I don’t watch a ton of TV but it was a PITA to chat for a hour at a time with no results. That and now I have to change my log in on all devices and the apps I use the drtvn credentials on.

My guide refuses to generate

Just sits there loading. I had ZERO issues before this update. I never had problems with the service

When I have had issues with the app, uninstalling , rebooting and reinstall has worked.

Got an email today saying the new app and dvr is available on amazon devices. Gonna update at lunch and see how it goes.
