Going to be driving an older vehicle with no Bluetooth or aux code. Is the FM Transmitter the way to go? Can anyone here recommend one?

Does that car play cassette tapes?
I always used one of these adapters. Just plug into your phone, and pop the tape in for some tunes.

Depends on the frequencies in use in your area. Never could get one to work consistently well where I live.

Unless you want lower quality/volume and constant static, this is the only answer without an auxiliary jack.

Something like this that allows you to tune whatever station you want. This one is I. Store at Houston Walmart. Best Buy or Frys will have something like it as well. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Auto-Drive-Car-FM-Transmitter/982339451

Depending on where you live using an FM transmitter can be problematic - it's difficult to find an available frequency. I found this to be a problem in Houston.
Another option is to keep a small wired or Bluetooth speaker in the vehicle.

I use a bluetooth portable speaker.
The model I use fits just right between the gear shift and edge of drivers seat so it can tilt facing me. If the dash had just a 1/4" width more it would ride in front of the digital radio display. It's a soft rubber coated thing so it doesn't slide around. I got it off Viggle several years ago, think it's either Sony or Sonos, could be ilive though.

Why not change the stereo out?

yep was going to suggest something similar. used this on a couple of older vehicles that had really nice factory units that would have been a problem to replace.
just remember as you travel that one frequency may not always work and you may have to find a better one if you start getting interference.
