I catch up on the different shows while I run errands and work around the house. Lately I can't listen on my iphone or my ipad. I start the podcast and soon as the screen times out on the display it shuts down. It will only play when the screen is active. Haven't had this issue until the last month or so. I have tried opening and playing it in a new window but that doesn't work either. FWIW this is never a issue when streaming live, just on the podcast.

Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Their app is broken. Hit the safari logo in the bottom right of the screen. Will launch the podcast in safari. Then press play.

I had the same experience listening to Newell Normand's podcast last week.

The app sucks. Moscona said on his facebook live morning show a while back that they're going to have a new company come in and remake the app.

The 104.5 app is pretty bad. All their stuff is on the Apple podcast app and it works with no issues. I listen for several hours daily with no glitches.

Happened to me all the time.
Right under the play button and status bar to the right you’ll see “download.” Click that.
Bottom right hand corner you’ll see the Safari button. Click it.
A new window will pop up in Safari and your phone can lock and it will still play.
I just started going through their website for this exact reason because it was easier: LINK
Click the menu button in top right corner.
Select the show you want.
Select the episode.
Once again, click Download

Well, the 10 most recent podcasts... which isn't even a full day's worth of their shows. So annoying they delete their "old" stuff basically immediately. I'm sure Gordy is saving a nickel though, so it's worth it to them.

I listen to podcasts on either Stitcher or TuneIn. Both work fine with my iPhone and iPad.
