Anyone else using it? I'm preparing to present a workshop tomorrow on it alongside some Azure.

For any IT folks not using it: you're doing it wrong.

I kinda like the way they're doing that in Exchange, SharePoint, etc. - forcing you to the shell by not exposing certain functionality in the GUI.

I set up 4 new 2012R2 servers earlier today, installed FSRM and DeDupe on them, configured volumes, shares, etc. all with PSRemoting. Saves a ton of time and is a damn easy way to make sure everything is identical.

Is there any IT folks not using PowerShell still? If so, they need to consider a new line of work. You're pretty much forced to use Powershell these days if you're running Exchange or Lync. Personally, I love Powershell.

To run the scripts we do for anything in active directory we have to run powershell. It is pretty bad arse.

You'd be surprised, hence why I'm starting to do workshops at the office to try and get some of these people educated.

PowerShell is awesome. I use it mainly for Active Directory and Office 365.

That's a pretty ignorant statement. Maybe you should clarify it to only apply to windows IT and as a tool for admins at that.

So should I start using it for my Cisco equipment and Unix servers?

Not Unix, but PowerShell Desired State Configuration now supports Linux.

Although changes are you're already going to be using something like Puppet or Chef, so....who cares.
