went from 6s Plus to XS Max and have liked it so far. It's taken a little bit to get used to no home button. I really like the wireless charging and I can tell a difference with the camera quality and screen quality.

Can someone explain why AT&T now charges a device access charge?
I'm almost certain they always have charged a device access charge or "line fee".
device access charge is a term carriers started using around the time they got rid of phone subsidizations and had to reformulate their pricing structure, especially to offer competitive family line bundles.
essentially, there's probably a base rate, and then for each line, there's a device charge.

Has anyone made the switch from the X to the Xs or Xmax?
Trying to decide if I'm going to upgrade to either or just let it ride. I don't care as much about having the latest phone every year, but I'm curious if there is any noticeable difference from the X to the new models.

I know I asked several pages back about other carriers. Just saw that Charter/Spectrum is now running one on the VW network. Has anyone tried this out? Looks like it's been around since early summer, and the $45 unlimited per line is decent. I already have them for internet or I wouldn't consider it, but got an email the other day. I didn't see where you could BYOD, so if not that may be a deal breaker. I don't really want to buy a new phone right now, but I'm up with Sprint in another 6 weeks or so and I think I could use these on the VW network.

Love my Max compared to X. Screen is Perfect. Battery is beast. Disregard that any information saying the Max battery life isn’t better than the X.

Seriously, how bad arse is the Max?

Max screen is just too big for me. The X/XS is perfect for me

Anyone else noticing terrible battery life on 12.0.1? It’s 1:30 and I’m already at 20%. I usually make it whole day without a charge

58% on XSMax.
But I’ve streamed two hours of Direct tv now. And have had Spotify going now coming up on about 4 hours and an hour of playing mobile games during lunch.

Close all of your apps, then go Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then reenter your WiFi password(s).
12.0.1 fixed some issues with WiFi so my hunch is that this is your issue.
