I have an LG OLED and love it, but you need to spend some time searching for good deals.

Go over to Slickdeals and search their forums for the best price. There have been a few B7A sales around 1899. Also, if you live near a Fry's Electronics you can negotiate them down to their black friday prices (1999 for the C7).

As for any more price drops, we are probably pretty close to the bottom, at their current sale prices most retailers should be able to move the 2017 models.

i bought the lg c7 over thanksgiving, i was coming from the samsung ks8000. in terms of pure picture quality it's miles better, and for me was worth the extra money. the ability to have ZERO edge lighting is what won me over.

that said, it's not without its drawbacks. the oled can't get as bright as led's, and while still plenty bright there were many times with the ks8000 i'd have to close my eyes it was so bright. also, for the lg specifically it's limited compared to samsung when it comes to built in apps. for instance it doesn't have hbogo which is really annoying, but i feel like the lg operating system is snappier than the one in that specific samsung. finally, i preferred the design of the ks8000 and it's wide mounts to the lg's fat center stand that picks up light from the tv screen when watching in the dark. a minor gripe.

three months in and I'm still very happy with my purchase. ultimately picture quality was my biggest determining factor. hdr & dolby vision content looks amazing. i ended up purchasing at bestbuy and also purchased their extended warranty exactly for the burn in reason you mentioned, and knowing i can get that taken care of locally without issue was worth it for me. that said, i've had zero problems with the set.

I also forgot to mention that there is a lot of natural light inside my living room, so I’m not really sure how that should affect my decision on which tv to get either.

I’d probably stay away from oleds then. They aren’t generally recommended for bright rooms.

My buddy has one in a room with a lot of natural light. It's still a badass screen

You don't own blinds? The room doesn't have to be bright if watching something and most viewing (minus weekends) will be at night after work so no problem. I'd go for whatever you feel has the best picture which IMO is OLED.

It'll be the first thing I do if/when my Panasonic 65VT60 plasma ever dies.

My son talked me into getting an OLED a few months back. Worth it.

Samsung KS8000 was the best bang for your buck TV that you could get at one time. Phenomenal crystal clear display, super vibrant colors, dark blacks, etc...just glad I was able to get my 55" when I did for only $900!

The reports of burn in on OLED TVs pushed me back to regular LEDs. RTINGS burn in video

You can get the 65 lg oled on greentoe or B&H(call in) for about $2100. If you have a decent credit card you can price match this down $500 to joes av or another unreputable site. The oled is definitely worth $1500, especially if you are a panasonic plasma hold out.

If I was in the market for a 65” tv for my living room I’d bite the bullet and get an oled.

Just bought a 120" RC retractable screen (10 foot diagonal / viewing from 8') and a BenQ HT2050 projector for less than half that and you couldn't give me an oled or any other TV for that matter. You have to see to believe how good the new projectors are......

Anyone with the B7/C7 have any issues with juddering in quick panning/motion scenes? That's a bigger concern for me than burn in, which seems to be overblown. Also considering the 900E, if anyone has experience with both.

biggest issue with OLED's is banding and vignetting. Kind of have to play the panel lottery if you are sensitive to that stuff.

I ended up with an E7, only because I bought a c7 from frys and it had some vertical banding. When I went to swap they only had E7s in stock, so they cut me a hell of a deal.
