The last 2 TVs I got were from buy.com and newegg.com. Both of them Samsungs.

I bought a 55 inch Sharp LED TV from Sams about 3 months ago for 600. I'm very satisfied so far.

Try New Orleans Audio and Video in Elmwood. Usually they have tax free deals and have much better quality and prices than Best Buy.

While you may get the tv a little cheaper at Sam's, Costco, etc., you better consider the service and who is gonna repair it should you have problems. I found this out first hand with one I bought about 3 years ago. You may wind up having to take it to a guy who has a shed in his back yard out in the middle of nowhere.
I have learned the hard way that service after the sale is worth something, too. Especially when you are dealing with electronics. I would rather pay a little more for in-home repair warranty than save a little and have to drive 175 miles round trip twice(deliver and pick up). Now, I don't know about Costco, but I know Sam's aint gonna fix it!

As cheap as tvs are right now, I'm going to buy the best deal and buy a named brand, you shouldn't have to worry about service.

One power surge or thunderstorm can fry it, no matter whose name is on it. Hope it works out for you! Good luck!

Costco clear winner if they have the TV you want.

Bought my last tv at BB. Had problems with the panel on the first two sets but BB took them back with no problem.

Go to BB and find the one you want. Use the Amazon app to check the price on there. Then ask them if they have an open box one. If they don't, have them check to see if any other local stores have an open box one. If they find one, buy it. You won't find it cheaper. If they don't have open box, then decide if the tax is worth it or not.

Best Buy is the best place to pick out the TV you want then buy it from Amazon and save the tax.

Generally speaking, this.

I found my TV at BB for about $100 less though. They also offered 0% financing for 18-months. I jumped all over it.

ETA: Obviously, a TV is something you don't finance. However, being 26 and paying cash on 95% of everything I buy/owe I figured it would be good for my credit...since I have had very little up to now.

I bought my curved 4k when they had 10% reward points so I got $300 in reward points back which was nice. I wouldn't want to deal with shipping TVs back to Amazon if I got a defective one.

would you mind waiting for it to come through the mail?

you can usually save some money via amazon prime, or maybe just amazon without prime.

Nothing wrong with buying from BB. Also, take those 18 months no interest. A little note to you 20 somethings. Never buy extended warranties.
