iPhone--12 or 12Pro?

I'm in the market for a new iphone. My company pays a significant portion of the cost of new phones, so either phone will be relatively cheap. I'm looking at either the iPhone 12 w/128gb or the 12Pro w/128gb. The 12Pro will be an extra $150, but with my company paying most of the cost, it's still pretty reasonable. Is it worth the extra $150? What features would I be getting with the 12Pro that I'd miss out on with the 12? I do like to take a lot of pics from travels etc. I've become iPhone illiterate as I'm still rocking an iPhone 8, so a lot of the features/camera systems are entirely new to me.

9to5Mac Comparison
iPhone 12 Pro
Pretty significant difference in camera, although either will be better than the 8. For the minimal cost increase, it’s worth it to get the Pro.

there have been a ton of comparison photo shoots and I can't tell the difference b/w the 12 and 12 pro even tho the specs are somewhat better on the pro

After going all in with the bigger phone fad on the Android side when I came back to Apple and decided on the 12 Pro it just seems like the perfect size phone for your hand and your pocket. I don't regret not going for the 12 Pro Max.

Wait a few months for the 13 Pro or Pro Max

I purchased the iPhone 11 right around the release date of September 2019. A couple of months ago I decided to take advantage of the ATT promotion that gives you 750$ toward a new iPhone 12 or 12 Pro. That's roughly the same price I paid for the phone almost 1.5 years ago. While it's not a comparison between the 12 and 12 Pro, the 11 is nearly identical to the 12.
I noticed a pretty significant difference immediately. The speed improvement and "snappiness" of the 12 Pro was noticeable, as well as the difference in picture quality between the LCD and OLED screens.
Another big difference to me was the size of the actual phone. The Pro is a bit smaller but has a larger screen. With the screen extending closer to the bezel on the Pro model, the appearance of the phone is improved imo. Definitely worth the extra $150.

I like the 12 pro but it is heavy. Kid has a 12 regular and other has 12 mini which is larger than the 8. I’d go 12 pro or regular 12. 12 pro is pretty good machine.

If you take a lot of travel pics the 12 Pro might be worth it, since it has the telephoto lens. The regular 12 only has the “standard” and wide lenses.
I just upgraded an opted for the regular 12 because I don’t take a ton of camera pictures. That seems to be the biggest difference as far as I can tell.
Another difference, also camera-related, is that the 12 Pro has the LiDAR Scanner. As of right now I believe it’s mainly used to improve the autofocus and depth detection performance of the camera, but there are other potential applications as well.
