Missed it, I've been looking for a new 65.

Just keep checking. Groupon keeps adding more of them if you really want it. Out of curiosity, I checked today and they added more of the 65".

Just wanted to let people know that the YouTube app on the Roku Ultra now supports HDR. I think they added the support back in June. I don't know about other devices. I hate using the apps on the KS8000 as they are flaky and much prefer going thru the Roku for all my streaming.
When YouTube first supported HDR end of last year; the YT app support for it was limited to new Samsung TVs like the KS8000 or Chromecast.
FYI, the best YT channel for HDR is 'The HDR Channel'. However, not all videos are HDR even if it says in the title. Some videos are HDR according to the YT app, but for some reason fail to trigger HDR on the KS8000. You'll know when you're watching something in HDR.
Here is the video I like to show people to demonstrate HDR on the KS8000:

you bought a 4K state of the art tv and you're not going to hard-wire it??

I agree. I hardwire everything I can. With powerline networking, there is no reason not to. I used to have issues with wifi and streaming 1080p. I couldn't imagine streaming 4K HDR.

Look for a refurb or display model Vizio P series. I just scored a 65" from Best Buy and it looks amazing.

Anybody seeing any deals in the near future. I need a new 50, 60, and 65 due to a lightning strike.
I want to stay in the 1500 range for each. 55 and 65 need to be best quality. TIA.

What surge protector do you use for your TV?
Posted on 8/20/17 at 10:45 am to CRDNLSCHMCPSN11
Direct tv is claiming they will cover all costs because their equipment transmitted the surge to the tv's.

No kidding? So if your TV ever got fried they would cover a new one? My brother has Dish Network, and had his TV fried from a power surge.
