How do I get Microsoft word on my Mac?
Please answer this like I’m a 5 year old (or maybe 95?). I’m not computer savvy.

Depending on needs for Microsoft Office suite, could get family M365 subscription for $99/yr. Install apps on windows and macs, 1tb onedrive storage, updated apps

I have a yearly renewal subscription that allows me 5 licenses of all the MS products. Kids use on their Macs and I use on several PC’s.

If you work at a company that uses Microsoft 365 (which is like 80% of all companies), there is a high chance you already have a license. Go to portal.office365.com and login with your work email. At the top right you will see an option to install Premium Apps. Done.

This. We allow our employees to install a local copy on a personal computer using their work login. As long as you have an active login and license, you have access to it. It’s a perk.
You can also use the web version of O365 off your work license, although I’m not a fan.

Good point. Definitely a possibility. We only pay for the basic license ($5/mo) to give our employees an email address. The full license which includes 5 (I think) downloads of microsoft office is about $15/mo per employee.

If you have a Chrome browser, just type docs.new and hit enter. Boom! You have Word.

Go to this Microsoft link.
The online version of Word is free. I can't give you the direct link to Word Online because I'm signed into every Microsoft app known to man.
If you're computer challenged, you aren't likely to notice, or be restricted by any differences between free World Online and a paid version.
Google can go to hell, last poster.
