Got free trials of both. I like the Vue. Wife likes Hulu. But neither seem to blow the other out.

For all of these services the main differences are

User Interface
# of streams
DVR
Channel lineup
Live channels in your area
Price for the features you want (you have pay extra for more streams and full DVR functionality with Hulu).

I stuck with Vue after trialing Hulu but I think Disney's upcoming streaming service could change the value proposition in Hulu's favor. You already get access to Hulu shows with Hulu Live, I bet you'll get a few bucks off Disney+ too. If they don't become the dominant streaming service in 2-3 years then they really screwed up.

We have had paid subscriptions for Vue, dtv now and Hulu live TV. For now Hulu has won easily. We have had FAR fewer technical issues and the large Hulu catalog is a big bonus for the family.

One negative though is the amount of commercials seems too high on Hulu.

to me hulu live has the better channel selection but that 2 streams compared to 3 streams kills the deal for Hulu. Vue for the win.

I seem to go back and forth between Hulu w/ Live TV and YouTube TV. Just throwing YouTube TV out there as an alternative as well.

Hulu with Live TV was rough about 6-9 months ago. It's gotten MUCH better lately and youtube tv also seems to be a good competitor. Those seem like the 2 strongest as of Dec 2018.

I have Hulu and am satisfied with the service. I had to log on through my computer last week and clicked my account. I scrolled down and noticed this

Manage Nielsen Measurement. It was opt in by default and I changed to opt out.

Yesterday I received a letter from Nielsen with $2.00. I threw the letter away and kept the money.

Should have read the letter, they'll keep sending money for filling out viewing journals...one time I think I racked up like 60 bucks all in cash

I chose Vue over Hulu for several reasons:

• With PSVue offering 5 streams at once plus substantial DVR storage at no extra cost was a big factor as this is extra cost with the Hulu service.
• I prefer the channel lineup with PSVue as it carries all the major sports channels including NFL, MLB and NBA networks plus the ability to add NFL Redzone as an add-on during the season.
• Although very minor, I did experience some buffering with Hulu.
• Both services provide the same locals in my area, so that was a wash.
• The one thing I preferred Hulu over PSVue was the interface as I thought it provided a nicer layout and easy to navigate.

I disagree. Granted I bought my PS4 at launch but the UI is not the most responsive. The rewind/fast forward function is very laggy and the guide is not very smooth at all. I assume this might be due to the lack of resources dedicated to the GUI.

With that said, I just got a nice new x900f smart TV and Vue is as smooth as silk.

If I were to get a streaming service it would be YouTube. I can't stand Hulu as a company. They make you pay and have ads.

I'm currently using YouTube TV but I wouldn't knock Hulu for ads. YouTube TV throws adds into anything that you add to your DVR. I wish that if you had YouTube Premium + Music (12$) that it also stripped out the adds from YouTube TV.

They should really bundle or package those things in an offering and I think they'd get more customers to YouTube Premium and Music.

I think Hulu is going to do something like a bundle with Disney+ that's supposedly coming in 2019. Hulu might be the top dog VERY soon in 2019.

I have a day PS4 as well, never had any issues

the UI works way better than it does on FireTV and other devices.

Esp when going through the guide
