was at a party last weekend and was talking to the host about his Plex server. He could basically pull up almost any movie/tv show made for free. It was pretty cool.

So I downloaded the Plex App to my Roku Ultra. How do I find movies and tv shows to watch? I guess I need access to other's servers?

Anyone know how to use Plex? It's making me feel like a boomer

He likely has the movies downloaded to his HD. I use this and it works pretty well. Run it on a dedicated PC.

I used handbrake and ripped all of my DVD's to an external drive.

I'll add you to my server if you like. It's pretty massive. What is your Plex username?

BC's server is legit. I try not to watch too much and soak up his bandwidth but my kiddos recently watched both the Willy Wonka's and it was clutch.

Thanks BC, by the way.

It's overwhelming at first but you'll get it - I'm a boomer and have mine setup like our very own Netflix. As others have said, I converted all my physical media to MP4 with Handbrake and use a dedicated PC with 2 4TB external drives for media. You can, as BC suggested, log into other Plex accounts as well though I've never found the need to as I have literally any/everything I want on ours.

>Spare or unused computer
>Install Plex
>Install Sonarr, Radarr and Jackett
>Get IPT invite

Done.

Only annoyance I keep having is Unpackerr being a PITA and not working, so I have to do all zipped package extraction manually

I sent you a friend request. Accept it from plex notifications or the link they sent via e-mail.

After you accept I may need to share my libraries if it didn't already.

This is all you need. You can even set it up minus sonarr, radarr, and jackett. Then you can add plex pass and use it on all your mobile devices.

Ok, so how do I go about downloading some shows/movies? Torrents? Any decent sites that wont have malware all over my computer?

Last time I did this kind of stuff, I was using Napster lol

This is my setup. I have an old laptop with an external drive attached to it containing about 700+ movies. The laptop is wired directly to the router. Works like a champ.

I have a desktop strictly for Plex and some youtube broadcasting. I don't even use it for anything else.

And you're welcome.
