my ads are getting scarily specific to things i have been talking about.
i haven't searched these things or googled them.
almost like my phone or computer is listening to my conversations.
i'm not one to be hyper paranoid, but today it really freaked me out.

do y'all think clearing out my cache and cookies would help?
is this happening more to other people? what is going on?

Google already has a profile of your dating app accounts and dildo searches

I've had some facebook ads targeted to me that seemed pretty creepy

For instance, I was wearing an LSU cap with the throwback sailor Mike logo on it. Later that evening I started getting ads for LSU sweatshirts with the sailor Mike logo on it.

If it were a more common logo I wouldn't have thought much of it but the timing was really odd.

ZERO. they've already profiled your IP address in the cloud along with god-knows-what other identifying metadata they've scraped from you so all that stuff you're deleting is already stored and backed up all over the world.

It doesn't hurt. While everyone is correct in that it doesn't keep you clean from companies that are already profiling you like Facebook, Google, or your ISP, it'll at least keep random websites from knowing all about you.

Clear them out every couple of weeks at least. On your phone too. Also, make sure you're never storing passwords in your browser. One virus and BAM, you're buying amazon gift cards.

Clearing out cookies doesn't really help. Facebook, Google, etc. tie your activity to your account no matter what computer you are using. Cookies are on your computer, your account activity is on their servers.

You can start a completely new account with these guys though. Of course, you will lose all your "friends" when you do that.

Download Brave Browser.

That will be a good start until you can research the browser plugins you need.
