How are 5x phones still going for over $200 on swappa?

i'm a big nexus fan but it seems these are all ticking time bombs. who would risk buying a used 5X over a nexus 6 that is $50 cheaper and has a much larger screen?
i'm probably going to skip the whole 5x/6p line and wait for last year's pixels to go on sale which will be the first time i've slacked on a nexus.
my nexus 4, 5 and now 6 have been complete rockstars.

i think you should. I have a 5x and it really bogged down when nougat was launched. i mean bad. freezing multiple times a day. it's better now but i still have the chance of it crapping out completely at any point due to the solder issues.

i'm really disappointed with google over this. i think you and everyone with a 5X should be entitled to a free fix. its still officially supported for all the lastest OS releases so google needs to make this right for users.
i have read of people baking them in the oven and tearing the back off in an attempt to fix the solder issue and these have only added a few weeks of life to the phone.
unacceptable.

i read that too. im mostly mad that i had a 10 month old phone and they introduced google assistant and didn't give it to me.
That's probably selfish but i was pretty aggravated by it.

I have had literally 0 issues with mine. Mine is quick and never bogs down. I do run a custom ROM and ElementalX kernel on fairpark he settings.

I bought the 5X as a test to see if I liked Android. I love the phone.

6P went to shite. Can't hold a charge and turns off when it says it's still got about 20% left. I want the pixel but am scared of similar issues.

My 5x bootlooped and Google sent out a refurb. That one was laggy, would randomly reboot and crash. I figured it was only a matter of time before it bootlooped, so I got them to give me a refund (they wanted to just replace it again).
I haven't bought a new phone yet. I'm using my old Moto X Pure. I'm finding a Moto Z Play or maybe a Samsung S7 once the S8 releases. Was considering a Pixel, but Google can't keep them in stock + I've been reading some bad things about it as well. The concensus is that it's definitely not worth its price.

How did you achieve this? I've had about 3 replaced units and when I told them I was willing to pay the difference to just get a Nexus 6p, I was told no.

My 6P is still running smooth except it always dies when I hit the 15% remaining notification

I just kept refusing their offer of replacements. I told them this was a known issue and that it wasn't "if" a replacement would bootloop, but "when" and that I needed a reliable phone. They had to "escalate" my request to a higher Dept. But they agreed to refund.

My 5x died Friday. Could get it to fastboot mode but no further. Could not enter into recovery ode. They're sending me another one but i'm just going to sell it. I'm getting the Pixel.
The 5x is made by LG. Pretty sure the Pixel is made by Google right?

No. The pixel was manufactured by HTC.
