I’m in desperate need for a new home office desk.

I’ll have a 2 monitor display with a necessary area for my laptops. The storage alone is a major plus here.

Are the blow specs overkill? I was really looking for something closer to 60” wide and 24” deep.

29” high (matches my current desk)
29” deep (my current one is 20” )
65” wide (currently have an L shaped desk)

If it fits and does what it needs to who cares

This sounds like a question you need to ask your significant other that you share the space with

I picked up this office surplus standing desk last fall and it changed my life after sitting for a year when covid first hit. I love it and yes the cables are messy but they have to hang loose so I can raise and lower it but I haven't sat once since i got it. I could never go back to a traditional desk. I'm here 8+ hours a day with no plan to return to the office.

Yeah that was an issue lol. I cleared out my drawers and that's what's on that little bar cart.

I'm looking to get bins for my shelf unit and divide up my crap.. Cigar stuff in one.. Office crap like staplers, scissors, sharpies in another, etc.

I filled 2 Rubbermaid with all the crap from my drawers.

Sure, but they don't have to hang through the middle

That looks like as high as you ever put it. Tape or otherwise attach the cables to the underside of the desk, run them left, and then let them hang down behind the desk leg.

I'd even take it a step further and put the under desk trays. Get a multi plug surge protector with a long cord. Plus everything into the surge protector, and you'll only have 2 cords hanging (surge & ethernet)

Bud. One 49" wide monitor would change your life. Trust me on this. :-)

I use two 24s and my 15 in. laptop at work. A second monitor is a game-changer for a teacher grading work that is 100% online.

You'd be surprised how "small" you can get with desktop space when you get a monitor stand to get your monitors up and out of the way. That desk pictured with two screens and two laptops is plenty. If you're an attorney and need at least one legal-sized file open, too, you've almost certainly got room for that and one good cup of coffee. You'll need to put your printer elsewhere, though.

Man...I just saw/played with one of these in person the other week...and you could be right. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Definitely going that route next go around, and by then they will be a lot cheaper...I hope.

There's the ones that have the PiP so you can split it with different computers connected which is cool. With the new ease of various window split options in WIN11 it is a really cool option.

I currently have to 27" ones, so I would need to have a need to have a 49" one and have the 2 others lined up above it, or would just be wasteful.

Funny thing is pre-covid...I was way more of a binge wasteful shopper, so would have bought it on the spot and just figured out what to do with the other 2 later. Now I'm way more thoughtful about if I need it. Probably the best thing that came out of that era for me.

BTW - I am in the market for one of those veri-desktop standing desking deals. Anyone know if there is a good thread on those, and different mfgrs? I couldn't find one via the search. Thanks.

Ikea has nice sized desks for an alright price, 250$

Built a desk similar to this one for 300$ (98 inches wide)
