Carriers have been doing this for 2 years with people screaming it is a rip off.

Apple basically does nothing and adopts the exact same system.....it is the best thing ever....I'm going to have to check it out

Can you explain? Honestly not trying to troll you here.

It comes unlocked and they throw in apple care. Makes it easier to switch between carriers for an extra 12 dollars. some people would be happy for that.

Yeah I bought my last ones on contract, must have been right around the time the carrier payment plans started. I was going to do that with AT&T in a couple of weeks anyways, but I think with that you paid so much per month for two years. And it was money on top of the device for the protection. At least according to the salesman at AT&T I talked to. I didn't say it was a rip off, just something else I was going to look into when I make a purchase.

If you truly turned off force touch on the MBP then you wouldn't be able to click anything (unless you turn on tap to click). the track pad isn't mechanical anymore.

I wasn't actually referring to you specifically just people

On the Edge plan (maybe named different now)with Verizon you could upgrade after you have paid off a certain percent of your phone. They made it where that percent was always satisfied a year after you started your payment agreement. I've had 2 phones the last 2 years on Edge. It is great for me.

ETA Edge on Verizon...my bad.

He meant the extra "force touch" mechanism and you know it. Of course there isn't a physical click anymore.

the taptic engine? That is not force touch. force touch is detecting pressure, not a feedback vibration.

The Air 2 still starts at $499. It didn't have a price drop.

Please don't tell me you think the fappening was an iCloud hack...

I don't want to hijack this thread away from what was discussed at the event, but the fappening is not the only incident that has occurred that was high profile enough to make Apple tighten it's security measures. There's no denying that their cloud strategy has been half assed and unfocused for years, which is actually kind of surprising because they could have been making even more money selling high quality cloud services.

Yep. I was wrong. Looking at the wrong size.

I still think people call "force touch" on MBP that second tap once you push hard and that's what people don't like.

So...there's no 500GB option anymore? I'm guessing since I'm 9.99 they'll just up me to 1TB.
