My stereo has two speakers, a left and a right and they have the below connectors. How can make these longer? Whatever happened to traditional speaker wire. What is this crap?

Cut each wire.

Splice each wire.

Pray.

What does the other side look like? And show the cable ends as well.

ETA: Brand names of devices might help, too.

Molex FIT connector family but not sure if this is the same as what you have.

Looks proprietary. If I had to guess I’d think it might say Bose or something similar on the front of the box.

Other end goes inside each speaker.
The brand is Onn.

Can I just get a 6 conductor cable and splice?

Go to Radio Shack and tell them you need a wire stretcher. They keep them in the back. They will play it off like they don’t know what you are talking about. Be persistent and let them know you know they keep them hidden.

PCIe/EPS was my first reaction, but the pin out isn't right.

These look like they are carrying a not insignificant amount of power plus a ground (assuming the wires are coded correctly).

I was in autozone one day and this kid probably 17-18 was in there legitimately asking for blinker fluid. The first time he said it I was like "har har heard that one a million times" but I looked at him and he was serious as hell. He left and got in a company truck, and I just had to call them up and ask wtf. Lady picked up and I told her what I witnessed, and she fricking lost it, laughed her arse off. She explained to me that was the boss's son and he sent him on that snipe hunt.

Best advice I can give us get rid of them and get a real setup. No offense, but not an impressive brand.

To do it right, you need to know the wattage of the receiver and the distance of the run to the speakers..

If you are not going far splicing hold be fine for the most part.

A low impedance wire and soldering is preferred.

Some sets are tuned to the exact length of wire but if we are talking a few feet I wouldn't be too concerned.

Across your entire house might be a problem depending on load and supply.

At first glance, it seems like there are 3 speakers in each housing, thus 3 pairs. If this is the case, then splicing color for color with any wire of the same gauge is fine.

Hey Wiseguy, when I worked retail back in the early 70s we sold everything including hats, shoes,etc.. When some body brought in hats shoes and wanted to return because they were to tight, We would show them the "stretcher" & take hat or whatever give it a few twists and if they didn't say that's perfect then a couple more twists a , "yeah that's perfect" But a wire stretcher... I lika ya style !

Framers have been known to send the new guy out for board stretchers.

Thanks all.
This is a stereo for a family member that’s in a shop-type setting and will only get used a couple months out of the year.
