I've had a Jabra Pro mono 65 and a previous iteration of that for more than a decade. My current one is 4+ years old and acting up, I confirm it's the headset by switching to computer mic/audio and the issues stop. What do you have an recommend? I'm looking for:

-Mono
-Wireless
-Mute button on the thing
-Integrates with Teams calls somehow (hang up button)
-Huge range (I get bored and can walk around the entire yard with my current one)

Thanks in advance!

Practical recommendation

If thinking “I just want what I had before but new” ? Jabra Engage 65 SE

If using desk phone + PC + mobile heavily ? Poly Savi 8210

If budget-sensitive but still needs range ? Yealink WH62

Recommended replacing with Jabra Engage 65 SE Mono (DECT) to match existing Jabra Pro functionality. Provides ~500 ft range, Teams call control, and onboard mute. Poly Savi 8210 is a viable alternative for multi-device environments. Avoid Bluetooth models due to significantly reduced range.

I know about Jabra, just disappointed this one hasn't lasted like my previous one and was looking for some testimonials. When I search Amazon, it's just a load of Chinese fake brands. Might work fine, who knows. I use it 7+ hours a day, 5 days a week, so I'm fine getting something worth it.

AirPods. Everything else makes you look like an antisocial dork.

I've got a yealink, hits all those marks, I've never tested the range to failure, but I walk and talk too and can go get the mail on the other side of the building and still be connected.

I have the Poly Voyager Focus 2 for work and the noise cancellation on the mic is fantastic (nobody every hears anything going on in the background around me). There are buttons that integrate with Teams/Zoom, when you pick it up and put it on your head it can auto-answer the call, flipping up the mic boom mutes the mic, and it has solid range when you use the dongle. It can also do Bluetooth but I think the range with the dongle is a little better.

HP apparently bought them and I don't know what their quality is like now. I have had mine for a while with no issues.

I use a Jabra Engage 55 Mono, and it works well for Teams.

Damn

Just realized people don’t just use their computer to talk and on Teams

With the amount of meetings I’m on, I’d hate to use a headset

^ That's exactly what I use for my home office and I'm on Teams calls the majority of every working day. Laptop with external speakers and I use a Logitech camera with an integrated microphone on top of one of my monitors instead of the laptop cam.

Have they fixed the Air pods and Teams issue yet? A few years back at my last job, during Covid work from home, we had tons of Teams meetings and that is how my coworkers and I communicated with Teams calls as well. It didn't jive with my laptop, and I ended up taking most calls and meetings through my phone's Teams app so I could use the air pods. I seem to remember the headphone part worked fine, it was Teams not being able to use the built in microphones on the Air pods. If I opened up my laptop to make the microphone accessible it was fine, but I ended up getting a pair of bluetooth headphones that were compatible.

The Jabra isn't Bluetooth, it has a USB connected base send that gives it a 300+ foot range, through walls. I just wish this one worked as well as my first. Maybe a new one would.

Everyone I've ever seen using air pods has problems with them every day, and I don't want anything in the ear.

I'm im WFH I just speak to the laptop. Works perfect. Now in office is different and have goofy over the ear noise canceling headset. Amazon has them for 40 bucks.

Soundcore Life QC20, when I had to deal with an H1B that talked at high volume directly into my left ear from his cube.

I'm wired headset at home (SteelSeries Arctis1.) I can't wander much, because there is always something being displayed on screen I need to set fire to.

Over the last decade, proprietary connections for audio seem to be better than just relying on BT (obviously we've gone through many versions of BT.)

The ones I use are comfortable enough. I'm generally on 4+ hours of meetings/calls a day (I'm sure there are people that are on more) and I don't have any comfort issues. I don't have to turn them on or sync them; I just pick them off the cradle. Avoids any potential WFH background noises, and people can hear me much clearer. Kind of like a camera - the built-in camera on my laptop works fine, but the external camera I have produces a much better picture.
