I hate IOS 8.0.2. Has completely trashed my iPad. On the road now but when I get home I am going to give it my best shot to roll it back.

Yeah my 16GB iPad 2 is a much, much less functional, smoothly operating device.

There is usually a very small window of opportunity for that, like a day or two.

only problem I have had are all bluetooth related. My phone will not sync into my F150's Sync nor my Grand Cherokee's uConnect so I have no hand's free phone calls for me until they push a fix.

Question though, I am still on ios 6.x on my iphone 5. I would like to update to 7.x, but Apple only shows 8.2 from what I see. I don't think I want that.
Is there a way to downoad/install 7.x now ?

I don't think so.

But I don;t understand why there's no copy of & out there in the web people can revert to. There were always tons of copies to run the betas on.

ETA: I see why, Apple basically has blocked it.

Yes. Do a search and manual download of 7.x on the PC. Then, connect device to computer open up itunes, hold down shift while clicking on update button. Navigate to the 7.x download and click on it. Boom. Profit.

I'm not positive, but I don't think that works anymore. My understanding is Apple won't let it "activate". You can't just download and install, it has to get the OK from Apple servers to actually run. Hope I'm wrong cause i know lot of people on older equipment want to roll back

They quit signing ios 7.x already? Damn. Its been since the iphone 5 since I had one, so I didn't know if this process still worked or not. Usually you could still roll back to previous firmware for a while. Guess the proprietary machine that is apple is gonna apple. Oh well.

some of our product apps wouldn't work on ios 8. we tested on the beta but something changed with prod.

so when everyone in the company upgrade to ios 8, their demos stopped working.

so.......we had mass downgrades.

its doable but a pain in the butt.
