Our product portfolio continues to evolve, and now we have a variety of products for users to enjoy audio. We have therefore stopped manufacturing our Chromecast Audio products. We will continue to offer assistance for Chromecast Audio devices, so users can continue to enjoy their music, podcasts and more.

Kind of sucks because I have an old soundbar and an old set of computer speakers that for $15 was able to connect them to play music via google home

I picked up a CA when they went on sale last year. Neat device.
Another option... the Echo Dot has an RCA output port and will stream Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music, etc.

I have a backup just in case I ever need it. It's a great product. Sad to see it go.

I have a 3 zone set up running in my house off Amazon mini amps and Chromecast audios. Seems to be working just great!

I should've bought a second CA for a stand alone speaker while they were discounted.
