Get ready to pay more $$ for fewer channels on Directv Now

IF you're still paying $40 for DTV now you will pay an extra $10 a month. DTV now lost a record number of subscribers last quarter. This price increase and fewer channels won't help bring them back.

Today Cord Cutters News has learned that AT&T will reportedly replace their current packages with two new ones and raise DIRECTV NOW’s price by $10 a month. The new packages will be called DIRECTV NOW Plus with 40+ channels for $50 a month and DIRECTV NOW MAX with 50+ channels for $70 a month. Current subscribers will be notified of this change starting on March 12th, 2019 the same day new customers will have to pay this new price. DIRECTV NOW will also be adding HBO to the Plus and MAX packages as a standard channel. This comes from sources with knowledge of AT&T plans to update their prices.

As each "content kingdom" puts a premium on their own content to try and start their own streaming service the traditional services that gave you access to everyone's content will probably keep getting more expensive. It won't be until some of these content kingdoms fail and realize they don't have a critical mass of premium content that we'll see the content start to spread back out to multiple services and prices start to go back down.

I have the just enough package and normally @ $15/mos but this month they issued me a credit so at $5/mos now. That along with my local antenna in the attic works perfectly. Also have my Qnap running plex on the side.

As an OG subscriber to DTV Now. I had the 100 channels for $35.Since canceled. I've got say I'm happy with YoutubeTV at $40.
I don't think I Google minds subsidizing the cost for long term data collection and ad revenue. I also don't mind Google seeing that I watch ESPN randomly and that's about it.

may pull the trigger on switching now. I got in on DTVNow last year thanks to my unlimited plan with ATT for cell service offering a discounted price.

I’m on a one month trail with sling. It sucks. YouTube tv was by far my favorite.

I've already got the $65 one and HBO so I wonder how I'd come out. It looks like they're just tacking on $10 to users on existing plans.
This may make me look around. I've heard alot of good things about YouTube TV, do they have live locals?

YouTube TV is perfect for locals and sports. Wife gets some of her BS channels as well.

How does Youtube TV to compare PSVue?
Posted on 3/9/19 at 9:43 pm to okietiger
Of the two go with PSVue. Having done all 3, go with Hulu Live.
