Former Republican National Committee finance chair Todd Ricketts launched Freespoke, an alternative to Google, earlier this year because he believes Americans have a "duty to protect" free speech.

"When free speech is under attack, our whole society is under attack," Ricketts told Fox News Digital.

"A few years ago, as I was looking for things in searching on the Internet, I felt like I just wasn't getting results that I expected… I felt like it kind of like was these biased results, and so I started talking to other people and… other people sort of felt the same way,"

Search for "Duckduckgo to start censoring"

It happened earlier this year.

That's a pretty big mischaracterization.

DDG down-ranks sites associated with disinformation (i.e. verifiably false information) originating from Russian IP addresses and/or IP's previously connected to the Russian Federation.

One would think that would be a good thing, at least to a US audience.

Phew, so glad I have DuckDuckGo there for me so I don’t have to think for myself.

Do you think most people are capable of that?

I think most humans are really fricking stupid, so I don't trust human authorities to be capable of curating an objective truth.

well that is just false. They down rank wrong-think which is no different than censoring speech they dont agree with.

I believe DDG was bought out by Google a while back.
