I have directv, previously had cox. My experience is that the Fox affiliate in Baton Rouge is crap. Their picture quality is one of the worst that I have on my line up regardless of provider. They constantly screw up their transitions in and out of commercials, etc - overall production quality.

Does anyone else notice this or is it just me? I don't notice this on the other locals at near the frequency that I notice it on the Fox affiliate.

There is a reason why it's

WAFB/WBRZ for 1a/1b

Then WVLA/Fox wayyyyy down the list

This is correct. The few times they have golf broadcasts are literally painful to watch.

It's not just you. Been this way for over a year too. They seem to not care.

It has been this way for a long time. See this reddit thread for more info:

Apparently it is/was as simple as old cameras.

And I agree. I have turned games off because the picture started to hurt my eyes. Fox may have had some golf on too that was completely unwatchable (cant remember).

From the Reddit thread...

To add to that.... If you get HD through cable or sat, the signal is compressed and degraded. Antenna is the best way to get the best picture for any local station.

I've got news for you--Fox's NFL broadcast looks like shite on the antenna too. They should be ashamed of this

This has been going on as long as I can remember. Their signal/picture/cameras are total shite.

I never paid much attention to it because I normally watch TV on a 32" 1080P in the bedroom, and the viewing distance is far enough not to matter, but I replaced it with a 50" 4K a couple days ago. At my view distance, it does a decent enough job upscaling broadcast TV, but just last night we were watching something on Fox, and the new TV amplified how shitty it really is.

WGMB Fox 44 sucks. I hate having to watch anything on there. I don't think the station engineer cares to even fix it either.
