I'm at the point of having to replace a few lights and my stock is running low so I'm about to purchase new lightbulbs. I entered Home Depot and felt like I was shopping for new furniture, so many different choices.

What do you guys recommend for what I believe are BR30's and also regular lightbulbs for standard lamps and such.

I'm not really looking for HA stuff just something that is going to be good and last awhile. Not sure about LED or Cree or anything really.

Everytime I've gone Lowes has had the Utilitech LED bulbs on special. $2ish per bulb for LED is hard to beat if you don't care about any smart features.

Get LED, lower power use and last for like 20 years.

Get soft white, not daylight for the warm yellow color..

This.

My wife hates the daylight bulbs. I've since learned that a lot of women I know hate them as well.

I like the Ecosmart BR40 LED's available at Home Depot. I tried GE but had 3 out of 4 fail.

There are many options for the A19 60 watt equivalent LED. I prefer Cree. Here's a thread I started a few months back LINK

Go LED. I haven't noticed that it saves much on my electric bill but I haven't had to change one in years either.

If you have dimmers on the lights you are replacing, LED's might not be compatible.

Make sure the LEDs are instant on. I've been really happy with the Feit brand.

I couldn't convince my penny pincher mom to go LED so I just bought them enough bulbs to replace their whole home setup a few years ago.

That's the day I became my dad's favorite son. He hasn't had to climb a ladder to replace a bulb in 3+ years.

Well when the woman starts getting her arse up to buy the bulbs, and change them, then she can decide what color she wants. My wife doesnt' like the daylight ones either, but i do. We have daylight everywhere. I hate the yellow tint. Never realized how much i disliked it until i got the daylights.

How are these bulbs? LINK

I want to put them in my ceiling fans and lamps around the house. I don't need anything fancy like dimmable, etc. Just want a cheap lot of LED daylighters

I have those phillips throughout the house. Put them in about 2 and a half years ago. Probably have about 40 of them. One has gone out. Also have about 15 of the smaller candelabra type LED bulbs, and have had 2 of those go out, but they are outside on the porch and are on all night every night.

I could really care less about the minuscule electrical savings, the fact that i'm not changing a light bulb every other week is why they are so much better.
