Direct TV customer loyalty

I remember a thread were everyone was getting deals by calling a certain phone number. Anyone remember the number? My contract is up this month and I don’t want to pay $200 for Direct TV.

Just call and tell them it’s too expensive and you are switching to cable. Directv retention dept will bend over backwards.

Or just switch to a streaming service.

I don't know the number, but you had to call and ask for the customer loyalty department. I saw the thread and called and was given the discount, but it wasn't actually there when it supposed to be. I had to call back and they added an extra $10 off the original 50 or whatever it was.

The number was 1 800 778-3397. I saved it on my phone.

It worked for me back then, but I think someone said they later shut it down.

Try it and give us a report.

Here's the thing - Directv customer service is all Indian reps and the language/accent barrier is an enormous challenge. I was in the same boat as you about 2 weeks ago. My bill jumped up to $200 and I was screaming bloody murder. I called and vented to some poor Indian kid. I told him I wanted to cancel and they put me over to the loyalty department.

The loyalty department is staffed exclusively by American citizens. I had a pleasant elderly woman from Tennessee who cut my bill in half.

You can call the regular number and say you want to cancel. They will switch you to the loyalty department that give the deals. The Pakis can't give the same deals

I did all that and got nothing. 10 years and no deals. I went with Hulu and honestly I don’t miss directv, plus I’m saving a ton. Now they call me with deals to get me back, but I’m not interested.

You didn't talk tot he right people. I have never not been given a better deal. I'm currently paying right at $30/mo. after that last deal.

I haven’t call yet but just got an email that they are extending a $50 discount for the next 12 months. I’ll see what that looks like in April

I did it a few months ago and I got a discounted rate, $70 for a year. 6 boxes and all genies. Also got NFL pckge free.

not customer loyalty related, but apparently my box updated to a new OS today and it freaked me out.

anybody else get the new look today?

The UI update is taking forever to roll out for some reason. I have been telling customers since October to be prepared for it to change because that's when it started rolling out. Almost every house I have been to still has the old one and all new installs are still using the old one.

I actually cancelled last week when they wouldn't lower my bill enough.

About 3 hours later someone from Direct TV called me instead of ATT and put it lower than I was originally asking.

Not sure how you get to direct without talking to ATT first but it was a completely different conversation.
