Have pictures and videos on a number of devices(iPads iPhones etc), some of which are at their capacity. I’m wondering if there’s a device i can strictly use to store/view pics and videos. I’m thinking something like a large memory iPad but I don’t need all of the other capabilities outside of the photo/video storage. Any ideas? TIA

Sounds like you want a NAS.

If your problem is specifically pictures/video, you can upgrade your iCloud storage and have the photos/video stored in the cloud LINK

You could buy a cheap high capacity microSD card and insert it into the apple devices SD card slot....

Oh wait...

I scanned family pics from 1900 and converted videos from various cameras.
I ended up using ssd drives. Since it was a lot of material i needed almost a terrabyte of storage. Local pc guy recommended samsung ssd drives. I am sure in 10 yrs i will change storage media again but should be easier next go round

Give each one of these. Right at a 1TB of storage.

Upgraded iCloud is like 0.99 a month. You can access your photos anywhere and anytime.

Do you LTO tape for offsite backups?

Cloud is the answer. iCloud or many others. I have gotten rid of all my NAS devices. Let DropBox or iCloud do the backups.
